This article presents shortcomings of the selection process and automatic configuration of field agro-meteorological stations to different regional needs of DSS. Pointed out the essence and importance of the proper selection and calibration of sensors, data loggers, data transfer method, the elements responsible for the reliability and quality of the functioning of the DSS. Highly recommended to coordinate efforts in this direction in order to improve the situation in this area and facilitate the responsible work of guidance for advisors and customers. Urgency demanded by practice, is fast developing affordable instruction, guidance and training materials.

At the core of the creation of the agricultural system the conviction was made that the development of science and technology, and the adoption and executing their achievements into agricultural practices increase the quantity and quality of agricultural production. They also have a role in modernizing the existing standard of farms. The development of modern forms of management, the increase of technological and quality requirements, food safety, and also new environmental expectations and beliefs, showed the need for efficient and effective functioning of the farm advisory system. They also determined the change of advisory system model. The article contains proposals for improvement of agricultural advising including the requirements formulated in the latest assumptions of EU common agricultural policy.

The article indicates shortcomings of advising in the protection of plants in the scope of technique such as: selection of operating parameters for sprayers, lack of reliable information and training materials which are necessary for adviser, instructor and operator. The importance of proper nozzles selection and their working parameters was indicated, as the element responsible for the efficiency of chemical protection and safety of the environment and food. It is highly recommended to coordinate activities in this direction to improve the situation in this area, and to facilitate the responsible work of advisers and operators of agricultural sprayers. The urgent need, expected by the practice, is early preparation of the accessible instructions, guidebooks and training materials.
