The article deals with the application of the oral history method in the research of the collectivization of agriculture and the phenomenon of the uniform agricultural cooperatives (abbreviation JRD) in the second half of the 20th century. It outlines some principles formulated on the basis of using of the oral history method during a field research. The research was conducted in 2001 in the village Krajne (district Myjava) in Western Slovakia.
