Celem opracowania jest analiza powiązań społeczno-gospodarczych małych miast aglomeracji poznańskiej oraz określenie ich znaczenia dla najbliższego otoczenia. Realizacja tak sformułowanego celu obejmuje trzy etapy postępowania badawczego. W pierwszym dokonano charakterystyki małych miast aglomeracji ze względu na poziom rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. W kolejnych etapach pracy przedstawiono wyniki pogłębionych badań terenowych, na podstawie których określono: 1) strukturę powiązań funkcjonalnych małych miast, w tym o charakterze lokalnym, regionalnym i ponadregionalnym, 2) znaczenie małych miast dla najbliższego otoczenia jako ośrodków lokalnych.

This paper seeks to analyse socio-economic links of small towns of the Poznań agglomeration and to determine their significance for the immediate surroundings. This research task involves three stages. In the first small towns of the agglomeration are characterised in terms of their socio-economic development. Next the results of in-depth fieldwork are presented on the basis of which it was possible to determine: (1) the structure of functional links of the small towns, including those of a local, regional and supra-regional nature, and (2) the significance of the small towns for the immediate surroundings as local centres.
