Anglizismen im österreichischen Deutsch am Beispiel von ausgewählten Onlinezeitungen

As it is today, numerous Anglicisms flow into the German language. Using selected articles published in the Austrian magazines Wiener Zeitung, Der Standard and Heute, a study on the use of Anglicisms was conducted to investigate whether this phenomenon is frequent or not in the Austrian press. The primary criterion for selecting these magazines was their broad scope of subjects presented addressed to various societal groups. This criterion approach presumably allows for representative observations on the issue in focus. The results of the study indicate that the occurrence of Anglicisms is very low and depends on the thematic profile of the magazine.

Heutzutage wird der deutsche Wortschatz durch zahlreiche Anglizismen bereichert. Das Ziel des Artikels besteht darin, mittels einer Analyse ausgewählter österreichischer Onlinezeitungen festzustellen, ob Anglizismen eine häufige Erscheinung in der österreichischen Pressesprache sind. Der Analyse werden Wiener Zeitung, Der Standard und Heute unterzogen. Der Zugang der Onlinezeitungen zu verschiedenen Gesellschaftsgruppen bildete das Kriterium bei der Auswahl. Die für die Untersuchung ausgewählten Artikel wurden im Jahre 2021 veröffentlicht. Am Beispiel der analysierten Onlinezeitungen lässt sich feststellen, dass Anglizismen in der österreichischen Pressesprache relativ selten verwendet werden und ihre Häufigkeit von der Art der Zeitung und dem Thema der Artikel abhängen kann.

Die Sprachpflege ist nicht nur das Anliegen der Sprachwissenschaftler. Die Medien – darunter die auflagenstarken Zeitungen – sind hierfür ein ideales Forum. In dem Artikel wurden mehrere Texte aus Die Welt und Süddeutsche Zeitung der Analyse unterzogen, die den aktuellen Fremdwortfragen (besonders den englischen Entlehnungen) gewidmet sind. Es stellt sich heraus, dass – abgesehen von unterschiedlichen Stellungnahmen – der goldene Mittelweg die Oberhand gewinnt. Außerdem ist es nicht möglich, an verschiedene Sprachschichten, darunter die Fachsprache, nur einen Maßstab zu legen.

The aim of the paper is to show how linguistic topics, in this case the presence of lexicological issues and infiltration of German loanwords in English (ie. anglicisms and pseudo-anglicisms), is presented to average citizens (ie. non-experts) in the German press. It is very important because it allows the social dialogue, which is later used by linguists to put forward proposals and to contribute to the possible modification of vocabulary through a real impact on the shape of the dictionaries and glossaries. The analysis was conducted on the basis of selected articles of the online editions of newspapers Die Welt and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Troska o poprawność języka to zadanie nie tylko dla językoznawców. Media – w tym gazety wielkonakładowe – są do tego idealnym forum. W artykule przedstawiono kilka tekstów poświęconych ciągle aktualnej dyskusji nt. obcych zapożyczeń w języku niemieckim. Wynika z nich, że mimo różnych stanowisk przeważa pogląd tzw. złotego środka. Poza tym nie można stosować jednej miary do różnych odmian języka, w tym języka fachowego.
