The article contains analysis of positive and negative consequences of the rise of biofuel production in Ukraine, review of the main problems that occur in the course of rape cultivation for biodiesel production, presents specific recommendations regarding such problems solution. In order to avoid the malnutrition problem that can be caused by superseding of food crops by industrial crops it is proposed to reclaim radioactive polluted soil for rape cultivation. Possibilities of control over the size of winter rape sowed areas with the use of aerospace survey methods are reviewed in details.
