Autor poddaje analizie jakościowe badania koniunktury prowadzone przez GUS w Polsce. Do opisu sytuacji gospodarczej odrzuca się odpowiedzi neutralne wychodząc z założenia, że utrata informacji z tego powodu jest nieznaczna. Autor podkreśla iż w jakościowych badaniach koniunktury gospodarczej nie można poprzestać na saldzie odpowiedzi, jako jedynym mierniku zmian koniunktury, bo nie opisuje ono jednoznacznie struktury odpowiedzi na dane pytanie ankiety. Konieczne jest uzupełnienie salda o dodatkowy wskaźnik. Może nim być suma odsetka odpowiedzi pozytywnych i negatywnych na dane pytanie. W pracy przedstawiono interpretację zmiennych, jak również sposób prezentacji graficznej.

The Author treats qualitative surveys of the business tendency conducted by CSO in Poland. Due to using answer balances to describe a business tendency, the full information about the answer structure is not taken into account, assuming that an information loss is insignificant. However, such approach "glues together" cases of different answer structures. In the Author's opinion, full information on the answer structure should not be given up. The Author's proposal is to complete answer balances with the sum of positive and negative answers. This very variable indicates a degree of respondent certainty concerning directions of changes in business. The study presents an interpretation of such variable as well as the way of graphical presentation of the variable system (balances and sums).(original abstract)

The purpose of this article is to use the hybrid C&RT-logit model in churn analysis in Orange telecom company. The combination of decision tree (C&RT algorithm) with logistic model improved the accuracy of prediction and enriched the interpretation of model. The dataset used during the study comes from KKD Cup in 2009.

The internationalization of Polish companies via equity entry modes is still a phenomenon limited in scope, especially when compared to that occurring in developed countries, however showing a clear upward trend. Within this research framework the following paper presents the results of a qualitative study devoted to the geographical patterns of foreign expansion of Polish companies. The theoretical analysis, based on the eclectic (OLI) paradigm of international production, the internationalization process model and the Strategy Tripod, is focused simultaneously on the determinants of location choice related to host country and firm characteristics. Case study results indicate that host country choice is related to the investment motives. Moreover, the role of location choice criteria depends on the host country level of development.
