Some banks, providing the service of corporate customers, have modern financial services in their offer, whose the essence and applying are based on the structure of Pooling Cash. Cash Pooling service was created aiming at enterprises which are acting as a part of capital groups or they have the extended organizational structure. The purpose of such an agreement is to increase the effectiveness of business activity led by the owners of bank accounts by optimizing the costs of taken credits and the appropriate use of the sum of daily balances on their current accounts by keeping the legal and financial autonomy. Making use of Cash Pooling service in the current activity of capital groups not only increases their financial effectiveness bat also it allows them to manage their cash flow. Bat the bank increases the competitive advantage on the corporate customer market and earns money on the return of financial resources and it builds a lot of longlasting business relations with customers.

Nowadays the bank's sustainable development and the increase of its competitiveness and profitability are indissolubly connected with innovations. It is necessary to create systems enabling banks to implement new technology and applications, optimise the process of providing services, finance infrastructure and create the platform of information exchange. Innovations are a challenge for most banks in Poland, especially for traditionally managed ones. The traditional procedures, good working and efficient during the crisis, are quite often the barrier of innovations' development. The results of author's survey focused on bank's competitive advantage confirm that both the banks' managers and customers agree on the innovations' importance for bank's competitiveness. However their opinion of banks' ability to use them in the process of creating competitive advantage is worse. Taking into account the latest trends improving that ability will be the crucial factor of competitiveness on banking market in the nearest future.

The article undertakes the issue of financial innovations implemented in banks. The practice shows that banks must have the ability in creating changes to develop and maintain a highly competitive position in the market. The source of these changes is financial innovation, which is characterized by a high level of modernity and competitiveness. Taking into account the complexity of the issues discussed, the article focuses on the benefits that are associated with financial innovations in terms of creating bank competitiveness.

Polish banking sector is changing constantly. Nowadays the bank's sustainable market position, performance and the ability of profits' increase makes banks to rethink their market strategies and implement changes in their business models. Fortunately some changes have already been done. The consumers' satisfaction, including the fulfillment of their current and future needs, has become the key factor of bank's market success. A new business model requires creating client capital as one of bank's strategic resources and source of sustainable competitive advantage. The paper presents the role of client capital in the process of creating banks' competitiveness, its position in current business models and some remarks and challenges connected with flexible adjusting banks' business models to consumers' needs and expectations.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badania empirycznego nad wpływem konkurencji ze strony SKOK-ów na stabilność banków spółdzielczych. Wykorzystano przy tym między innymi dane adresowe wszystkich placówek banków i SKOK-ów, co pozwoliło odzwierciedlić konkurencję jaką napotykały poszczególne placówki banków spółdzielczych na swoich rynkach lokalnych. Uzyskane wyniki dowodzą, że SKOK-i, do niedawna nie objęte państwowym nadzorem finansowym, generowały niepożądaną konkurencję z punktu widzenia stabilności systemu bankowego. Banki spółdzielcze, które były najbardziej narażone na konkurencję ze strony tych podmiotów, raportowały bowiem istotnie wyższe odpisy z tytułu utraty wartości należności kredytowych, co można uznać za objaw poluzowywania przez nie polityki kredytowej. Podejmowanie przez banki spółdzielcze wysokiego ryzyka kredytowego nie sprzyja z kolei stabilności tych podmiotów. Niekorzystny wpływ konkurencji ze strony SKOK-ów na funkcjonowanie banków spółdzielczych ujawniał się również na poziomie marży odsetkowej i rentowności analizowanych banków. Podobnych efektów nie odnotowano natomiast w przypadku konkurencji ze strony innych banków.

In the research article I analyze the effects of competition from Polish credit unions on the stability of cooperative banks. I make use of the addresses of all bank and credit union outlets in order to accurately reflect competitors' strength in local markets. The results prove that credit unions, which until recently stayed outside the official financial supervision, constituted unwanted competition from the perspective of the banking system stability. Cooperative banks that faced the strongest competition from credit unions generated significantly higher loan loss provisions. This result should be related to a comparatively loose credit policy of those banks, and - in turn - taking higher credit risk negatively impacts the stability of these banks. Unwanted competition effects were also observed at the level of the cooperative banks' net interest margin and their profitability. On the other hand, the results do not confirm a comparable negative influence of competition from other banks.

Wobec powyższych ustaleń celem tego opracowania będzie prezentacja specyfiki osób 60+ jako potencjalnych klientów sektora bankowego oraz wykazanie, że obsługa tej grupy klientów może być uznana za rodzaj nowego trendu i wyzwanie w ramach innowacyjnych usług, co będzie prezentowane na przykładzie rachunku bankowego dla seniorów. W przypadku niniejszego opracowania innowacje będą rozumiane jako nowatorskie rozwiązania, obejmujące wprowadzenie ulepszonych usług, przez których zastosowanie instytucja bankowa lepiej realizuje potrzeby klientów.
