In this article, focusing herself on the selected publicist texts by Franciszek Bahuszewicz, the authoress drew her attention to the role and significance of the descriptions of nature, its landscapes and the surrounding reality. The motifs and issues connected with nature and included in the correspondence helped to emphasize varied experiences in a particular period of time, in a concrete geographical sphere.

More and more publications devoted to the phenomenon of „multilingualism” in Belorussian literature are appearing nowadays.This fact is highly connected with the intensive development and the problem of Russian-language literature’s national identity in modern Belarus in an attempt to answer the question: what culture – Russian or Belarusian – does it belongto? Another important problem is whether modern Russian-language literature of Belarus harmsthe development of literature in Belarus? Detailed research of this question shows that it is not the Russian-language literature that is harmful, but social, political and economic conditions in which both elements exist and which support the development of the Russian-language art in Belarus: expulsion of Belarusian language from the sphere of active use to the phere of the cultural reservations, identification of non-state publications as the ones that resiststate policy, powerful influence of the Russian book market, etc.

W ostatnim czasie pojawia się coraz więcej publikacji poświęconych fenomenowi „wielojęzyczności” literatury białoruskiej. Jest to związane z intensywnym rozwojem literatury rosyjskojęzycznej we współczesnej Białorusi i z problemem jej narodowej tożsamości,poszukiwaniem odpowiedzi na pytanie: do jakiej kultury ona należy – rosyjskiej czy białoruskiej?Inne zasadnicze pytanie: czy współczesna rosyjskojęzyczna literatura Białorusi nie stanowizagrożenia dla rozwoju narodowej literatury białoruskojęzycznej? Badanie powyższego problemuprowadzi do wniosku, że zagrożeniem dla rozwoju współczesnej literatury białoruskojęzycznejnie jest literatura rosyjskojęzyczna, ale te społeczno-polityczne i ekonomiczne warunki,w których isnieją obydwie literatury i które sprzyjają wzrostowi twórczości rosyjskojęzycznej naBiałorusi: eliminacja języka białoruskiego ze sfery aktywnego wykorzystania do sfery kulturowej,utożsamienie przez władze niepaństwowych białoruskojęzycznych publikacji z opozycyjnymi,wpływ potężnego i pociągającego autorów rosyjskiego rynku wydawniczego itd.
