Marcin Świetlicki zidentyfikował podmiot wypowiadający się w jego twórczości jako „wierszową kreaturę”. Autor artykułu zestawia ten poetycki wgląd Świetlickiego z Benjaminowską koncepcją stworzenia (die Kreatur) i na tej podstawie opracowuje teorię podmiotu, który wyłania się z twórczości autora „Zimnych krajów.” Kreatura to podmiot i pomiot, stwórca i stworzenie w obrębie jednej „osoby mówiącej”. Jej stwórcza praca nie polega jednak na awangardowym kreowaniu wszystkiego „całkiem od nowa”, tylko na przetwarzaniu i przekształcaniu zastanej sytuacji, dotychczasowej rzeczywistości literackiej. Kreatura jest nie-cała : należy do zbioru „literatura”, a jednocześnie nie do końca wchodzi w jego zakres i w rezultacie ów zbiór wypacza; w tym sensie, i zgodnie z formułami seksualności Jacques’a Lacana, kreatura jest kobietą. Autor dowodzi, że ostentacyjna „męskość” pisarstwa Świetlickiego jest tylko sztafażem, dzięki któremu pisarz może dyskretnie, po kobiecemu, zmieniać reguły gry z wnętrza tych reguł. A jednocześnie chronić „się” przed naporem cielesnego, wstydliwego – bo zawsze „nieswojego” – bycia mężczyzną.

Marcin Świetlicki identifies the speaking subject of his creativity as a “metrical creature.” The author of the article juxtaposes this poetic insight with Benjamin’s concept of creation (die Kreatur) and on that basis builds a theory of subject which emerges from Świetlicki’s writing. The creature is a subject and a litter, creator and creation within one “speaking person.” Its creative work does not base on avant-garde formation of everything anew but rather on converting and reshaping the present situation, to date literary reality. Creature is “incomplete”: it belongs to the collection of “literature” but at the same time incompletely falls into its scope thus distorting it. In this sense and according to Jacques Lacan’s formulas of sexuality, creature is a woman. The author proves that the demonstrative “masculinity” of Świetlicki’s writing is only a staffage due to which a writer may tactfully, in woman-like manner, change the rules of the play from the inside, and concurrently protect himself against the pressure of bodily and shameful – for constantly beyond himself – being a male.
