Rozprawa doktorska Karola Marcinkowskiego (1800-1846) zatytułowana “De fontibus indicationum generatim” została opublikowana w 1823 r. w Berlinie jako pierwsza polska praca z zakresu filozofii medycyny. Jej autor był polskim lekarzem praktykującym w Poznaniu, wtedy w zaborze pruskim, szanowanym za patriotyzm i działalność dobroczynną dla najuboższych chorych. Rozprawa jest pierwszą polską pracą z zakresu historii medycyny, jednak dotychczas nie była przetłumaczona z łaciny na polski. Komentarz dostarcza pewnej wiedzy o rozprawie i jej autorze.

The doctoral thesis” by Karol Marcinkowski (1800-1846) was published in 1823 in Berlin as a first Polish work on philosophy of medicine. Its author was a Polish doctor who had practiced in Poznań, than in Prussian Poland, and was admired for his patriotic attitude and charitable activity for the poor and sick. The dissertation was a pioneering work, however, it was not translated from Latin to Polish until now. The article provides some comment about the thesis and its author.
