Bezpieczeństwo energetyczne państw, tj. dostaw ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego, potrzebnych do prawidłowego funkcjonowania gospodarek narodowych, dla ich dalszego rozwoju, jest obecnie zasadniczym problemem regionalnym (Unia Europejska), jak i globalnym. Dostawy tych surowców do UE i Polski z Rosji poprzez Białoruś i Ukrainę mają zasadnicze znaczenie dla naszego bezpieczeństwa energetycznego. Stąd też waga i znaczenie unijnych i polskich stosunków z Rosją, Białorusią i Ukrainą.

The energy security of countries, concerning such resources as oil and natural gas, is needed for the proper functioning of national economies, a well as for their further development, and is now a key regional (European Union) and global concern. Deliveries of raw materials to the EU and Poland from Russia through Belarus and Ukraine are essential for our energy security. Hence the importance and relevance for the EU and Polish relations with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
