In this commentary, I applaud Glăveanu’s attempts to shake things up and introduce some much-needed disruption into the study of creativity. Glăveanu is a “ big thinker” and he is correct to worry about the growing fragmentation of the field. I share his concern that the so-called “ social psychology of creativity” really isn’t all that social. Most researchers and theorists continue to decontextualize creativity, giving little attention to the cultural and environmental factors that contribute to creativity of performance. Yet Glăveanu also presents some arguments with which I disagree. Most striking is his apparent misunderstanding of the purpose and functioning of the Consensual Assessment Technique (CAT). In addition, I am less surprised than is Glăveanu about the current state of our field. The same narrowing of research questions plagues every branch of the study of psychology. However, the tides may be changing. At the forefront of a reform movement are a number of creativity theorists and journal editors. My own hope is that as researchers are given license to expand their work to include a wide variety of experimental designs, methodologies and contexts, they will adopt as their core mission the promotion of the growth of creativity at the individual, group, societal and multi-cultural levels.

The article tries to apply the methodological conception devised by Bruno Latour for research into relations between man and animals. The reflections concern a concrete group of animal owners who breed pedigree cats, and with whom the author has been cooperating for a number of years. The Latour mythology proves to be of help for analysing a 'project' involving the cat, an ideal representative of the species in the eyes of its breeder. At the same time, it discloses discrepancies contained in the very idea of the possibility of designing an object of culture as complicated as a living animal. Pedigree cats are something more than the sheer dreams of their designers, and biology turns out to be a partner and not a passive substance. The text refers to the traditional objects of interest of cultural anthropology - the relations between man and the natural environment.

This article is an attempt to briefly describe the potential of the online localisation platform Crowdin for the education of the future translators at universities and in private courses or workshops. This description is provided on the basis of the information gathered through the user experience of the author and uses the example of the Khan Academy project carried out on this platform. The article juxtaposes this online localisation platform with commercial CAT software which is commonly used for translation training.

In this article the author analyzes the evolution of the role of the translator in a world dominated by new technologies and the influence of these on the training of future translators. She focuses primarily on machine translation and post-editing. The purpose is illustrated by the results of experiments carried out within the framework of a program belonging to the EMT network and whose objective is to compare the steps of rewording in target language by post-editing and by a human translation exclusively. These experiments make it possible to draw some conclusions concerning the training of students integrating machine translation and post-editing.

The article presents first information from the archaeozoological analyses of the animal bone remains from Quadi settlement at Veľký Meder in the south-west Slovakia. It brings preliminary quantitative data on the representation of species and their importance for subsistence. Among 2546 identified specimens, domestic animals highly prevailed. The representation of economically prominent taxa suggests that cattle and small ruminants, such as sheep and goat, played the most important role in the diet and husbandry of the local Quadi population. Beef, mutton/kid has been complemented by pork and, on a small scale, by chicken. Moreover, incidental consumption of horse meat has been hypothesized in the village on the basis of few, but clear examples of butchery. Identified remains of donkey may be considered as the oldest proof of its occurrence in the territory of Slovakia. Their relatively high incidence raised the question regarding the existence of a mule or hinny in the village, which is possible due to a large portion of yet unidentifiable horse bones of intermediate size in the assemblage. On the other hand, the presence of domestic cat has been proved here without doubt. Similar to donkey, specimens from Veľký Meder, together with ones from Rusovce, Štúrovo, Malá nad Hronom and Beluša, belong to the oldest records of domestic cat in Slovakia. Its occurrence in the studied settlement supports the idea that keeping or breeding of donkey and cat by our Quadi most probably resulted from the commercial and political contacts with the Roman provinces. In addition to the above findings, the article also brings first glimpse on the appearance of local cattle and sheep and compares it with similar data from contemporaneous and precedent sites in the west Slovakia. It seems that Germanic sheep in its dimensions markedly oversize that of the Celts.

The aim of this article is to show German-Polish and Polish-German specialized Internet dictionaries as an useful tool for translators. The paper consists of an introduction, a theoretical part, empirical part, and conclusions. In the theoretical part are shown selected issues of translations studies and lexicography, in particular concerning typology of dictionaries, the process of dictionary making, and dictionary structure. All these issues are important for further analysis. The subject of the analysis is German-Polish and Polish-German Internet dictionaries as one of modern tools available for the translator beside text corpora, data base or different kinds of tools for computer aided translation. Translators have specific needs and expectations toward dictionaries. Some of the online dictionaries investigated are not e-dictionaries par excellence, but should be rather regarded as printed dictionaries made available on an electronic platform. Nevertheless, there are also dictionaries developed exactly for Internet use. Are their macroand microstructures well-constructed and can they fulfill the specific needs of the translator?

The aim of the existing case study was to investigate the implications of applyingcomputers to teaching interpreting to students who were not foreign language majors. Someresearchers argued that interpreting courses are very difficult, so they should be offered to qualifiedpost-graduate students instead of undergraduate students. However, most undergraduate programsin Taiwan offer interpretation courses. In addition, in China two-semester interpreter trainingcourses have even been offered to most undergraduate students who were not foreign languagemajors. Furthermore, computers have been widely used in interpreter training, but no research hasbeen available that investigated how to apply computer assisted interpreter training (CAIT) toteaching interpreting to students who are not foreign language majors. Qualitative research methodshave been used to collect and analyze the data to complete the report in this study. Participantsconsisted of the author and the 18 students, who were not foreign language majors, taking acomputer assisted interpreter training course that the author offered in a university in Taipei,Taiwan, in 2009. The results of the study indicated that CAIT may be developed into IM (theinterpretation method) of foreign language teaching to teach students who are not foreign languagemajors.
