The article presents the authoress' study of conflicts in children aged 7 to 10. It presents the dynamics of a conflict process, children's reactions to difficult situations and the perception children have of their position in conflicts. A brief reference is made to the impact of conflicts upon the formation of a child's social relations with its peers, and the way in which such situations affect the child's conception of his or her 'self'. Throughout the article, consideration is also given to family-related aspects of conflicts
