The report from the 24th Conference of the International Society for Humor Studies and the 2nd Symposium of Linguistic Approaches to Funniness, Amusement and Laughter concentrates on humor as seen from the perspective of positive psychology. The author discusses papers concerning the influence of humorous content on second language acquisition and the unintentional humor in children’s written works in first and second languages. The report presents research findings on gaelophobia and its influence on interpersonal relations. After that, emphasis is placed on the problems of the institutional education of pre-school children with the use of games and play in the United States. Finally, the report refers to exhibitions of satirical drawings and the perception of the world presented by their authors.
