This concise sketch written from the standpoint of Christian theology is more of an attempt at posing an important question perturbing the believers than a radical and unambiguous solution to it. The author conducted a radical recapitulation of the Aristotelian-Thomist and Cartesian conceptions of the soul and interpretations dominating the European discourse on the soul. In doing so, he also discussed the biologist stands (evolutionism, etiology). The summary proclaims that there are certain reasons for believing that the immortal soul is due only to human beings. Nonetheless, the still prevalent ignorance about the animal 'interior' does not permit to authoritatively refuse this human privilege to animals.

In this paper, we outline the basic characteristics of body and corporeality as presented in Claude Tresmontant's work. We logically organize and interpret his thought tendencies in mutual interrelation. We will point out the importance of body and corporeality in Christian theology, and emphasize the argumentative language of Tresmontant's philosophy and its contribution to modern theological anthropology.

In this article I discuss the contribution to Christian thought by one of the most original Catholic theologians of the secondhalf of the 20th century, the late Johann Baptist Metz. I am seeking to highlight four main axes that are widely present in Metz`s thought. My aim is also to show how these axes are still present in modern Christian theology. To achieve these objectives, I briefly discuss a) Metz`s christology as it bears on b) his debate of human historicity. I further discuss c) Metz`s call for a ‘radicality’ of Christianity. All these dimensions of his thought are relevant for a heuristic d) rethinking of the issue of hope and its challenges for future Christian mission in and for the world.

The paper deals with the problem of the historical incorporation of Greek metaphysics into Christian theology. The adopted approach is inspired by Martin Heidegger's ideas. Heidegger identified the platform for the incorporation of Greek metaphysics into Christian theology with the understanding of thinking as uncovering of being as being. According to Heidegger, every reductive understanding of thinking has a common source, which is the objectification of thinking. In Western tradition it leads to the hegemony of logic. Logical basis of metaphysics gave rise to onto-theological structure in both: in the thought of ancient Greeks (according to Heidegger this is already the case with Aristotle) as well as in Christian theology. Through the presentation of Heidegger's analysis, the paper calls for rethinking the nature of metaphysics and theology, as well as for rethinking the relations between modern philosophical and theological conceptions.
