With the purpose of efficient risk management they are offering, banks might be divided into 'traditional', for example, credit, depositary, percentage, currency risks and 'nontraditional', caused by their specialization and expansion activities. Concerning traditional risks there is a powerful arsenal of methods of influence. Both systematization of methods of management by the traditional risks of the bank and separate recommendations for the increase of efficiency of management by untraditional bank risks have been recommended.

This paper examines the determinants of the cost of credit to enterprises using data from the 2005 Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey (BEEPS) for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. We estimate an empirical model of the cost of the firm's most recent loan and show impact of monetary policy tool, such as nominal interest rate.

The main aim of submitted paper is to analyse relative efficiency in the Slovak banking sector. This paper focuses on the analysis of 206 branches of selected Slovak commercial bank during year 2010, realised by using of DEA models. The article in its closing part gives attention to the question, whether external economic surrounding influences performance of bank branches.
