Defending the truth about human is necessary in the face of today's sharp attacks on the concept of an individual (who he is, where he goes, what values he should adapt). The sense of existence is summarized in a simple anthropological statement 'man is a person'. This term means both the nature (and the gift) of being an individual and the task to 'become' human. It is necessary to stress the crucial role of a family as a community that shapes Tischner's 'value-directed thinking'. These values are strictly human and are based on the ancient triad of truth, good and beauty. In this sense, a family is the basic social structure that shapes one's personality in the process of upbringing.
