Industrias contra finezas (IF) is a play by Moreto written ca. 1655–1669. It was first published in 1666 and later reedited in the Segunda Parte of his comedies (1676). The play belongs to the thematic cycle entitled comedias de Hungría (comedies on Hungary), made famous by Lope de Vega. In addition to being what critics have now termed a serious palatina (palace) comedy, IF is clearly influenced by Calderón de la Barca’s Mujer, llora y vencerás and music plays a paramount role in it.

The article, dedicated to the founder of Czech translation theory and history, Jiří Levý, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his birth (1926), seeks and finds examples of his interest in Czech translators from Spanish and their critics in the 19th and the first half of the 20th centuries. Levý’s greatest merit is based on drawing the attention to the problem of the Czech versions of the Spanish romance form, particularly with regard to assonance.
