“Moral capital” is a concept emerged in the China ethical community at the end of the 20th century. The issue of moral capital arises from discussions about economy and ethics. The controversial point in this concept consists in that morality is a kind of capi-tal. Will morality become a capital? I think it is possible. The interpretation of the con-cept “capital” should go back to the logical starting point of economics, namely, “ratio-nal-economic man.” From the perspective of moral philosophy, every economic activity is committed to morality. The maximization of self-interest is only a part of rationality. Rationality should also cover the acquisition of no self-interest valuable goals. People’s economic behaviors may also be connected with culture, ethics, intelligence, aesthetic appreciation or emotions. I think it is time to radically reform rationality. The issue of moral capital reinterprets capital by basing on humanity. The core of moral capital con-sists in the revealing of capital’s property of value; this value functions against the bac-kground of the socialist market economy system. It is the issue of economic justice in the context of contemporary China.
Capitalist civilisation is based on abstract labour. Mainstream Marxism has devel-oped within a movement based on the defence of abstract labour and this has shaped its understanding. Savage Marxism starts from the first, not the second, sentence of Capital and moves against abstract labour through an underworld of categories usually neglect-ed. Hope lies latent in this underworld.
W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz stwierdzono brak jednoznacznych zależności. Spółki o podobnej strukturze kapitału osiągają różne wyniki finansowe i różne stopy zwrotu. Oznacza to, że szukanie przyczyn tych sytuacji wymaga dokładniejszej analizy wykraczającej poza podstawową analizę danych bilansowych.

This means that the search for the causes of these situations requires a more detailed analysis that goes beyond a basic analysis of balance sheet data.

Unfavorable demographic changes and pessimistic forecasts regarding the effectiveness of the obligatory part of Polish pension system necessitate additional saving for the old age. Therefore, the meaning of the third pillar of pension system grows. One has to remember that it is not enough to accede to a savings plan. The funds should be managed by the application of a proper investment strategy. The strategy, on the one hand, is in accordance with an investor profile, and on the other hand, it ensures, for a system participant, a satisfactory return rate from the invested capital. Achieving the above mentioned goals guarantees safe and decent life at retirement. The aim of this paper is to present chosen investment strategies and to show their influence on the value of the capital accumulated within Pillar 3 of the pension system.
Although the WACC formula is well known to practitioners and theorists of finance, it appears that various techniques are requested by the literature to calculate the WACC, leading to different results. This paper reviews the literature dealing with company valuation and assessment of financial viability of investment and its intention is to summarise and structure the academics' views on calculating the weights used in the WACC. An essential trend in approaching this issue emerges from these views, which in some cases, however, in the author's opinion, leads to irrational financial decision-making.
Contrary to received opinion, Marx’s analysis in Capital does not start from the commodity, it starts from wealth. This has enormous theoretical and political implications.

This article is an analysis of a legendary creative project of Sergei Eisenstein, who at the end of the 1920s was thinking about filming Capital: A Critique of Political Economy by Karl Marx. For years this idea was regarded as anecdotal empty bragging of the eminent director, but his journals from the years 1927–1928 include materials proving that the conceptual work on the film was at an advanced stage. The main idea behind the film fully developed the concept of the so-called intellectual cinema as an ideological discourse, with which Eisenstein had already experimented when making October: Ten Days That Shook the World. The author of the article sets young Eisenstein’s working notes on the film version of Capital in the context of his interest in Marxism and in the political and propaganda context of his cinema’s evolution in the 1920s, also explaining the reasons for the failure of the project, the theme and ideology of which were to some extent reflected in Eisenstein’s unfinished Hollywood projects.
The article aims to validate two hypotheses underlying the so-called Austrian Business Cycle Theory. The first hypothesis is that an expansive monetary policy lengthens the production process and increases the time it takes for consumer goods to be produced. The second hypothesis is that interest rate cuts lead to relative differences in the growth of production in industries manufacturing goods in different temporal distances from the consumer. The research methods used in the article are consistent with the methodological approach of the Austrian Business Cycle Theory. The author uses a deduction method based on applying verbal logic in the analysis of the sequence of economic processes. The article also uses a comparative method in the analysis of dynamic changes in the examined values. The research carried out by the author validated both hypotheses. The analysis based on the adopted indicators showed that production of consumer goods was lengthened in Poland between the third quarter of 2002 and the second quarter of 2008, a period when the Juglar cycle was in its growth phase. The same was true of some shorter expansion phases of the business cycle, the author says. The analysis also showed that, after Poland’s central bank (NBP) cut interest rates, production of goods most distant from the consumer and of durable goods grew faster than production of goods closer to the end consumer.

The paper uses hermeneutic and comparative methods to analyze the notions of the capitalist system developed by Francis Fukuyama and Immanuel Wallerstein. The author highlights the differences between these two models. The article focuses on two theoretical approaches to the contemporary stage of globalization. Under the first approach, liberal democracy and capitalism are seen as the most perfect system and the only one free from internal contradictions. The existing economic and social differences are seen as a quantitative and transitional feature rather than a quantitative and permanent one. In the perspective adopted by Wallerstein, heterogeneity is seen as a permanent feature of the modern world, and capitalism is defined as a system full of inherent conflicts leading to an imminent decline. The analysis of world systems discussed in the text makes it possible to trace the ideological foundations of the contemporary stage of globalization. It also puts a question mark over the theory of modernization, which had its heyday in the 1990s and under which social changes take place in an identical, linear way in all societies, while the Western economic and political model is meant for universal application.
Modern views define capital as the ability to perform labour. These two terms: capital and labour, are intertwined. Capital is an abstract and potential category, while work, however, represents the transfer of capital to the objects of labour that create its value. In an economy saturated with assets, labour is highly productive, which increase the level of welfare. This article analyses the growth of fixed assets in the economy against labour productivity and welfare level. Moreover, it presents the quandaries of economic growth acceleration, analysing the historical position of Poland.

Współczesne poglądy określają kapitał, jako zdolność do wykonywania pracy. Te dwa pojęcia kapitał i praca stanowią tandem.
W wyniku zastosowania nowej teorii ekonomicznej państwa dostrzegą znaczące korzyści z integracji, która zapewni gospodarowanie bez deficytów budżetowych i z mniejszymi niż dotychczas podatkami.

Economic thought is currently far from theoretical consistency and scientific consensus. Even the basic system of economic categories is not ultimately developed. Euro monetary union created by the theory of optimum currency area is facing difficulties in the integration of successive states. In addition, in the geopolitical thought is present a growing conviction about the upcoming change in the direction of the multipolar organization of the modern world by overcoming unipolar hegemony. The creation of a strong zone of Central Europe as a geopolitical organization requires a consistent, devoid of present defects, the economic theory of money goods economy. It is the purpose and message of this paper. As a result of the new economic theory, the state will see significant benefits from the integration, since it will provide management without budget deficits and at the smaller taxes than ever before.
150th anniversary of Marx’s Das Kapital calls for yet another contemporary evaluation of Karl Marx’s legacy. The article argues that Marx’s most important and the longest standing contribution into social science is not „historical materialism” nor any particular form of “critical theory” – it is the concept of capital as a specific mode of creating value. The article seeks to extract the six major features of capital as described by Marx and demonstrate their conceptual originality and novelty. It also shows how numerous contemporary social scientist borrow and apply this category to the fields quite remote from Marx’s own research terrain. But the fact of multiplicity of capitals and quite remarkable homologies between them should not lead us to premature conclusion namely that the social world can be adequately represented as a system or hierarchy of capitals.
The paper aims at showing that a lower share capital in limited liability companies can be a successful tool for overcoming the consequences of an economic crisis. In a period of economic turmoil insolvency is more than a simple risk. For such a reason the limited liability company shareholders, thanks to the complete financial autonomy given by the share capital, have a shield from the legitimate expectations of the creditors. The share capital protects the entrepreneur and at the same time allows faster fresh starts; nevertheless, in order for that to happen, the share capital cannot be an additional burden, instead has to be a simple formal element. The article demonstrates that in the last 50 years is visible a shift in the concept and function of the share capital. During the 50's of the past century, the share capital was considered as a guarantee for the company's creditors. Nowadays the European legislators across Europe are heading to consider the share capital as a mere formal element disconnected by any due quantity. (original abstract)
W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono i przeanalizowano szacunki wydajności pracy i łącznej wydajności czynników produkcji w Polsce według sekcji EKD. Łączną wydajność czynników produkcji obliczono jako stosunek wartości dodanej brutto według sekcji EKD do nakładów czynników produkcji (praca i kapitał). W części drugiej łączną wydajność czynników produkcji wyznaczono i przeanalizowano dla gałęzi przemysłu przetwórczego. Obliczono ją jako stosunek produkcji globalnej do nakładów czynników produkcji (praca i kapitał). W części trzeciej podano wyniki szacunków wydajności pracy definiowanej jako stosunek zużycia końcowego produktów poszczególnych gałęzi do pełnych nakładów pracy, wyznaczonych z wykorzystaniem tablic przepływów międzygałęziowych.
The Danish director Andreas M. Dalsgaard’s film The Human Scale (2012) is discussed in the context of recent documentaries on similar subjects that have been shown at human rights festivals. The Human Scale is primarily an excellent lecture on the ideas of Danish architect and urban planner Jan Gehl. The cognitive tools of persuasion and artistic means were equilibrated and combined in the film in order to convince the viewer of the value of Gehl’s concepts.
