Artykuł podejmuje problem wewnętrznej spójności medycznej klauzuli sumienia, obecnej w polskim porządku prawnym. Pierwsza część pracy nakreśla koncepcję sumienia jako ostatecznej normy moralności. W części drugiej zreferowano sens medycznej klauzuli sumienia i jej prawny status. Część trzecia podejmuje krytykę klauzuli sumienia w jej obecnym kształcie. Główną osią tej krytyki jest samozwrotność klauzuli sumienia, która w pewnych sytuacjach prowadzi do absurdu.

he article describes the problem of the consistency of the medical conscience clause in the Polish legal system. In the first part of the paper, I outline an account of conscience as the ultimate norm of morality. In its second part, I discuss the meaning of conscience clause and its legal status. Part three examines some criticisms of the clause in its present form. The main criticism is that the clause is self-referential, which in some cases leads to absurdity.
