Antropolog w organizacji. Zapiski z badań terenowych

Since the eighties of the last century the anthropology of organizations has been influential and intensively developing branch of qualitative research. In Poland, however, this field of anthropology seems to be underrepresented, particularly in academic circles. This paper aims to present the results of the ethnographic research conducted in a large, international corporation in 2011, and to share the experience gained. During the field work the subject of my interest was the cultural change in an organization. On the basis of the influential theories of Edgar Schein and Mary Jo Hatch I attempt to analyze the phenomenon of cultural dynamics in context of transforming artifacts, values and basic assumptions.

Artykuł jest głosem w dyskusji na temat obserwowanych w Europie zmian cywilizacyjnych i kierunków, ku którym zmierza nowoczesna Europa. Analiza zasobów literatury każe zadać pytanie, czy nadszedł już czas końca historii i w przyszłości nie można będzie oczekiwać żadnych znaczących zmian? Czy raczej należy się zgodzić z poglądami A. Tofflera, że tuż po trzeciej fali idzie czwarta, fala hiperindywidualizmu? A moż e jednak, obserwując potrzeby i zachowania kolejnych pokoleń Europejczyków, zaczną mieć znowu znaczenie wartości oparte na empatii czy międzyludzkiej solidarności? Obserwując postmodernistyczną rzeczywistość, można powiedzieć jedynie tyle, że wszystkie te kierunki są możliwe.

The article is a theoretical consideration over the civilization changes ob-served in Europe and the directions which the modern Europe is heading for. The analy-sis of the literature resources makes one to ask a question if this is the end of the history and in the future one would not be able to expect any considerable changes or perhaps after Toffler’s third wave, the fourth wave of hyperindividualism is coming? Perhaps observing the needs and behaviours of young generations of the Europeans, the values such as cooperation, selflessness, commonality and being helpful will start to matter. Existing in the postmodern reality we may only say that all of these trends are possible.
