Zmiany zachodzące na rynku kultury sprawiają, iż obecnie zarządzanie sferą kultury staje się coraz bardziej niezbędne. Jest to jednocześnie zadanie trudne ze względu na specyfikę sektora kultury, jak i kryzys społeczno-gospodarczy odczuwalny przez polskie jednostki kultury. Współczesny menedżer zarządzający tymi podmiotami staje więc przed wieloma wyzwaniami. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja najważniejszych funkcji, jakie pełnią menedżerowie zarządzający jednostkami kultury w Polsce, jak i ocena ich znaczenia w kontekście rozwoju sektora kultury.

Changes in the market culture make the current management of the cultural sphere is becoming more and more necessary. It is also a difficult task due to the nature of the cultural and socio-economic crisis felt by the Polish unit of culture. The modern manager managing these entities, it becomes so many challenges. The aim of the article is to present the most important functions to perform managers managing cultural units in Poland, as well as to show their importance in the context of the development of the cultural sector.
