The aim of the article is to present the diversity of life expectancy, fertility rates, infant mortality and overall mortality rates in the European Union, as well as an attempt to distinguish groups of similar countries due to each of the variables as well as because of all these variables together. The procedure to estimate a synthetic development measure required to carry out the standardization of variables, which in the described case used so-called check-parcel standardization method. The society aging process is inescapable in Poland, similarly as in other European countries. This is proved by the demographic data and clear increasing trends of life expectancy. The consequence is the escalation of the phenomenon of multiple morbidity in elderly people and their limited possibilities to live on their own. Those issues, coupled with the financial shortages of the health care system, pose a new challenge for the public payer, i.e. the National Health Fund (NFZ). In this paper, the author identifies and subsequently analyses and evaluates the necessary actions related to the process of elderly care in Poland. She seeks an answer to the question whether the Polish health care system is prepared, or is duly preparing, for this intensified obligation.

Praca poświęcona jest rentom małżeńskim. W odróżnieniu od podejścia klasycznego, zakładającego niezależność długości życia małżonków, w artykule uwzględnia się ich zależność. Struktura zależności opisana jest funkcją łączącą, głównie archimedesową. Wartości aktuarialne rent małżeńskich wyznacza się na podstawie znajomości funkcji łączącej dotyczącej bazowego wieku małżonków. Analizowana jest zmiana struktury zależności zachodząca podczas zmiany wieku małżonków. Wartość renty dziedzicznej została wyznaczona w pracy na podstawie danych GUS-u z województwa dolnośląskiego.

The paper is devoted to the marriage annuity. In contrast to the classical approach, assuming independence lifetime spouses, the dependence of it is taking account. The dependent structure is described by the copulas, mainly the Archimedean. The actuarial values of marriage annuities are determined based on knowledge of the copula concerning the base, preferential age of spouses. The change of the dependent structure according to the change in the age of the spouses is analyses. The actuarial value of reversionary annuities is determined on the basis of data from the Central Statistical Office of Lower Silesia.
