Today Dostoevsky, the greatest among Russian novelists, is also the one most discussed. His descriptions of the demonic essence of the revolutionary element were as brilliant as prophetic. Among the adventures combining into the plot, profound and burning problems were posed. Moreover, in some places they were entirely at the service of the idea. This placed the characters in extraordinary positions, exposing and provoking them: making them bond and collide with one another in unusual and unexpected environments precisely to test the idea and 'the man of the idea' - to test the 'man in man'. The 'man of the idea' clashes with the evil of this world, depravity, baseness, and vulgarity in their most extreme manifestations. Dostoevsky shows how people are possessed and describes how trichinas inhabit people's spirits, not hesitating to present the demonic, satanic character of events, and speaks of the demonic capture of Russia.
