Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest ocena rzeczywistych zmian zaludnienia Polski w latach 1950-2011 w świetle danych ewidencji bieżącej i spisów powszechnych. Wykorzystane w pracy wyniki wyznaczania nierejestrowanej w ewidencji bieżącej migracji i przeprowadzonej korekty liczby ludności Polski pozwoliły na wybranie funkcji trendu opisującej zmiany skorygowanej liczby ludności Polski od 1950 r. do 2011 r., by na jej podstawie zaproponować projekcję możliwych zmian do 2030 r.

The aim of this paper is to introduce the scale of divergence in the published data about population size in EU countries and assessment of the real changes in the population size in Poland since 1950 till 2011 in the light of the information from current evidence system and censuses. Used in the paper results of calculated unregistered migration and corrections of the population size in Poland allowed to determine the nonlinear function in order to produce the projection till 2050.
