Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie sytuacji w Demokratycznej Republice Konga, która jest teatrem działań zbrojnych kolejnych wojen domowych, a w szczególności sformułowanie odpowiedzi na pytanie o przyczyny powtarzających się konfliktów. Od czasu uzyskania niepodległości 30 czerwca 1960 r. secesje, powstania, rebelie, bunty, inwazje, rewolty i wojny etniczne stały się częścią politycznego krajobrazu DRK i pochłonęły miliony ofiar. Przyczyniły się one także do trudności gospodarczych w jakich znalazło się państwo. Szczegółowa diagnoza przyczyn konfliktów i kolejnych interwencji zagranicznych sił zbrojnych jest niezbędna dla podjęcia działań mających na celu stopniową normalizację sytuacji. Opracowanie zawiera więc analizę geostrategiczną stron aktualnego konfliktu w Kongo wraz z wyjaśnieniem wielości ich celów politycznych oraz mnogości i rozmaitości sojuszy między poszczególnymi ugrupowaniami.

The aim of the study is to present the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is a theater of military operations of subsequent civil wars, and in particular to formulate an answer to the question about the causes of repeated conflicts. Since independence on June 30, 1960, secession, uprisings, rebellions, invasions, revolts and ethnic wars have become part of the political landscape of the DRC and have killed millions of people. They also contributed to the economic difficulties in which the state found itself. A detailed diagnosis of the causes of conflicts and subsequent interventions of foreign armed forces is necessary to take measures to gradually normalize the situation. Thus, the study contains a geostrategic analysis of the sides of the current conflict in Congo together with an explanation of the multiplicity of their political goals and the multitude and variety of alliances between individual groups.
