The author has analyzed these digital collections, created and made available online via libraries, archives and a variety of institutions and organizations to promote knowledge of history, which can be classified as sources for the study of recent Polish history. He also determined that most research-friendly for researchers are resources created using software called dLibra. What is more, he showed that the special interest of web developers archives and libraries arouse regional materials, newspapers, collections of photos and videos of witnesses of the history and materials related to the history of the opposition to the communist regime, the movement of “Solidarity” and the fate of Poles in exile, in particular those persecuted in the East.

W 2012 r. w Nowej Zelandii przeprowadzono badania na temat ograniczeń dostępu do zdigitalizowanych elektronicznych wersji książek drukowanych, do których wygasły już prawa autorskie. Badania wykazały, że organizatorzy repozytoriów i bibliotek cyfrowych nie zawsze orientują się w stanie prawnym zamieszczanych w zasobach pozycji i wprowadzają różne ograniczenia dostępu do nich. Są to ograniczenia zarówno techniczne, jak i prawne. Uzyskane wyniki stały się bodźcem do przeprowadzenia podobnych badań w odniesieniu do polskich książek z domeny publicznej. Ich celem była odpowiedź na pytanie, czy i na polskie książki z domeny publicznej, umieszczane w środowisku cyfrowym, nakłada się ograniczenia wykorzystania. W artykule przedstawiono założenia metodologiczne i szczegółowe wyniki przeprowadzonych badań.

In 2012 in New Zealand research in the limitation of access to digitized versions of printed books whose copyright expired was conducted. Research demonstrated that the organizers of digital repositories and libraries are not always aware of the legal status of the works which are included into the collections and they introduce various limitations in the access to these items. These are both technical and legal limitations. The results that were obtained became a stimulus to conduct similar research in reference to Polish public domain books and to seek an answer to the question about whether Polish public domain books are also subject to limitation of use in the case such books are placed in the digital environment. The article presents the methodological premises and an in-depth account of the results of the research which was conducted .

Stemming from Gallica and enriched by contributions from partner institutions, the France-Poland digital library provides insight into the fascinating universe of multiple and multi-secular relations between the two countries. Over 4000 digitized objects are brought together on a single platform to bear witness to historical, artistic, scientific and literary relationships. The France-Poland Digital Library is composed of four major thematic groups, divided into smaller sections. Each of these are accompanied by articles both in French and Polish to contextualize historically and culturally the selected documents. Starting with the election of Henry of Valois to the Polish throne in 1573, it goes up to Charles de Gaulle's memorable visit in 1967. Part of the Shared Heritage collection and ranking rfist in terms of visit, the project is continuously enriched with new content and sections and aims to develop new partnerships.

Ogromną rolę w udostępnianiu zasobów kultury za pośrednictwem mediów cyfrowych odgrywają biblioteki cyfrowe. Takie jednostki posiada prawie każda znacząca instytucja kulturalna w Polsce i na świecie. Zgodnie ze swoim podstawowym celem, czyli ochroną i zabezpieczaniem dziedzictwa narodowego, stanowią one platformę dostępu do zdigitalizowanych treści dla wszystkich użytkowników, w tym studentów. Uczelniane biblioteki cyfrowe są ponadto ważnym organem promującym w sieci naukowy dorobek swoich pracowników. Na ich kształt i profil funkcjonowania wpływają, oprócz czynników formalnych, takich jak struktura informatyczno‑technologiczna czy czynniki prawne, także współpraca m.in. z jednostkami uczelni macierzystych – bibliotekami naukowymi. Na przykładzie Pedagogicznej Biblioteki Cyfrowej Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie (unikatowego w Polsce typu dziedzinowej biblioteki cyfrowej) zaprezentowana zostanie rola i działalność biblioteki cyfrowej w tworzeniu wirtualnej platformy dydaktycznej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem promocji przez PBC dorobku naukowego swoich pracowników (wystawy internetowe, materiały pokonferencyjne), a także kontaktów międzynarodowych (kontakty z Biblioteką Publiczną Atatürk Kitaplığı, Stambuł, Turcja).

Digital libraries have a huge role in sharing cultural resources. Digital departments are almost in every significant cultural institution in Poland. All of them have the same primary objective, namely protection and securing the national heritage and serve as an access platform for digitized content for all users, including students. Academic Digital Libraries are also an important tool of promoting the achievements of their employees inside scientific community. Their overall shape and effectiveness is affected by in addition to formal factors such as IT infrastructure, and legal factors, cooperation with University units – institutes, research libraries. Pedagogical Digital Library of Pedagogical University of Cracow was used as an example to present the role and and activities of scientific libraries in creating virtual didactic platform, with particular emphasis on the promotion by PBC’s scientific achievements of its employees (exhibition websites, conference materials), as well as international contacts (contacts with Kitaplığı Atatürk Public Library, Istanbul, Turkey).

Dostęp do polskiej literatury dla dzieci w bibliotekach cyfrowych i agregatorach zbiorów cyfrowych

W ostatnich latach podejmowane są liczne inicjatywy digitalizacji i udostępniania zasobów materialnego dziedzictwa kulturowego. Procesem digitalizacji zostały objęte także zbiory literatury dla młodego czytelnika. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości dostępu do literatury dla dzieci w dwóch polskich bibliotekach cyfrowych: Cyfrowej Bibliotece Narodowej Polona oraz w serwisie Wolne Lektury, a także w dwóch agregatorach zasobów bibliotek cyfrowych: Europejskiej Bibliotece Cyfrowej Europeana i Federacji Bibliotek Cyfrowych. Zwrócono uwagę na kolekcje zdigitalizowanej literatury dla dzieci, dostępne w Polonie oraz w serwisie Wolne Lektury. Dla porównania na początku artykułu opisano Międzynarodową Bibliotekę Cyfrową dla Dzieci, której zbiory i interfejs w całości przeznaczony jest dla dzieci. Odnaleziona literatura dla dzieci dostępna w bibliotekach cyfrowych pochodzi głównie z XIX i XX w.

Nowadays, numerous digitalization initiatives are undertaken to make physical artifacts of cultural heritage more accessible. Collections of literature for children have been also digitalized. Article presents possibilities of searching for literature for children available at two Polish digital libraries: National Digital Library Polona and Wolne Lektury and two aggregators of electronic collections: European Digital Library Europeana and Polish Digital Library Federation. As an example of making literature for children more accessible the International Children’s Digital Library was presented. Most of found resources for children in digital libraries is dated on XIX and XX century.

W 2016 r. Biblioteka Śląska w Katowicach uzyskała finansową możliwość zakupu niezbędnego oprogramowania do prezentacji online tworzonej od lat bibliograficznej bazy danych. Warunki dofinansowania zakładały także stworzenie dodatkowego punktu dostępowego do zasobu Śląskiej Biblioteki Cyfrowej. Ten nowy, poszerzony dostęp ma się dokonać poprzez wytworzenie sieci połączeń pomiędzy konwertowanymi z druku do bazy opisami retrospektywnej bibliografii Śląska z lat 1935–1939. W artykule omówiono architekturę bazy Bibliografia Regionalna oraz przedstawiono szczegółowo problemy i rozwiązania dotyczące trwającej właśnie retrokonwersji dawnych opisów bibliograficznych i tworzenia sieciowych połączeń pomiędzy rekordami bibliograficznymi a pełnymi tekstami – publikacjami w bibliotekach cyfrowych.

In 2016 the Silesian Library in Katowice obtained the financial means which enabled the purchase of necessary software for the online presentation of a bibliographical database which has been in development for years. The conditions of financial subsidies also stipulated the establishment of an access point to the Śląska Biblioteka Cyfrowa [Silesian Digital Library]. This new, broadened scope of access is supposed to be realised by means of the establishment of networks of connections between the descriptions of a retrospective bibliography of Silesia from the years 1935–1939 which are converted from print to the database. The article discusses the architecture of the Bibliografia Regionalna database and discusses in an in-depth manner the problems and the solutions associated with retroconversion of early bibliographical records (which is in progress) and the establishment of network connections between bibliographical records and unabridged texts – publications in digital libraries.
