Text is a novel of manners with elements of a thriller, a noir, and a detective novel (but the above-mentioned complementary elements fulfill only a supportive role, because the criminal intrigue exposed at the very beginning is treated marginally amounts to a starting point for deeper considerations of the psychological and sociological nature). Due to the peculiar presentation of the image of the Center (here: Moscow), Text fits into the vision of Moscow as the core of Russian predatory capitalism, exuberant consumerism, glitz, semblance and ruthless struggle for recognition in the ranking of successful people, which is presented in contemporary Russian literature. Its fundamental value is the fact that the realization of the author's idea is mainly due to the confrontation of megalopolis with images of the periphery, which can be regarded as satellite cities of the capital. In his perception of Russia, Glukhovsky is close to Roman Senchin and, similarly to the latter, he believes that the traditionally understood center-periphery, city-village conflict is disappearing, because eventually it turns out that (despite the spatial and social diversity) none of these places (mainly because of conspicuous regressive tendencies) does not give a person a chance for free development and self-realization.

This article is an attempt to look at the latest novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky – Text – against the writer’s previous work. The author of the article draws attention to the continuous creative evolution of the Russian artist, as well as the wide range of his writing skills. The Text is a psychological novel that constitutes a successful marriage of classic themes, motifs or problems with what is current and strongly related to the progress of technology and changes in the perception of the reality. The author of the Text appears as a watchful observer of the world around him, who in his first realistic novel makes an accurate diagnosis of the condition of modern man.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę usytuowania ostatniej jak dotąd powieści Dmitrija Głuchowskiego – Tekst – na tle wcześniejszej twórczości pisarza. Autorka artykułu zwraca uwagę na nieustanną ewolucję twórczą rosyjskiego artysty, a także na szeroki wachlarz jego umiejętności warsztatowych. Tekst to powieść psychologiczna, stanowiąca udany mariaż klasycznych wątków, motywów czy problemów z tym, co aktualne, mocno związane z postępem techniki i zmianami w sposobie postrzegania rzeczywistości. Autor Tekstu jawi się jako baczny obserwator otaczającego świata, który w swej pierwszej realistycznej powieści dokonuje trafnej diagnozy kondycji współczesnego człowieka.

В данной статье рассматриваются особенности изображения повседневности в первом реалистичсеском романе Дмитрмя Глуховского Текст. На примере судьбы главного героя произведения, Ильи Горюнова анализируется модель русской действительности и обыденности, а также их характерные черты и атрибуты. В данном контексте особое значение приобретают категории контраста, отчуждения, фатализма и пессимистического детерминима. Обыденность в своем романе Глуховский представляет, ссылаясь на русский литературный дискурс. В произведении ощущаются инспрации идеями Льва Толстого, Федора Достоевского, Антна Чехова и других классиков, а также современных писателей.

The aricle The Picture of Russian Everyday Life i The Novel Text Of Dmitry Glukhovsky  describes different attribute of a everyday life and reality in contemporary Russia. The author uses  the category of strangeness, contrast, fatalism and pessimistic determinism to characterize one of the most important motifs in his novel based on the life of the main character in the story. Glukhovsky shows the everyday life in Russian capital city and Moscow’s area referred to works of the biggest writers of XIX century (Lev Tolstoy, Fiodor Dostoevsky, Anton Chekhov) and to contemporary Russian authors.

Artykuł Obraz rosyjskiej codzienności w powieści Tekst Dmitrija Głuchowskiego poświęcony jest omówieniu zjawiska rosyjskiej codzienności i jej charakterystyce. Na podstawie sytuacji egzystencjalnej głównego bohatera utworu, Ilji Goriunowa, autor przedstawia konstytuujące rosyjską codzienność kategorie obcości, kontrastu, fatalizmu i pesymistycznego determinizmu. Głuchowski nawiązuje w swojej analizie do szerokiego kontekstu kulturowo-literackiego. W powieści widoczne są czytelne aluzje i cytaty z rosyjskich klasyków: Lwa Tołstoja, Fiodora Dostojewskiego, Iwana Turgieniewa, a także dialog z przedstawicielami współczesnej literatury rosyjskiej.

The article brings an analysis of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s science-fiction writing from the perspective of realistic motifs and the writer’s striving for realism. In his novels and short stories the writer touches upon real problems of the contemporary Russian society: helplessness of an ordinary man in the face of the system, corruption, censorship, falsified election results, iniquity, impunity. Glukhovsky brings up such issues in his Tales about the Motherland and his novels Futu.re, Metro 2035, thus reaching beyond science-fiction. The same problems become the focus of his attention in his latest, realistic novel Text.

В статье проведен анализ научно-фантастических произведений Дмитрия Глуховского с точки зрения наличия реалистических мотивов и стремления писателя к реализму. В своих романах и рассказах Глуховский затрагивает настоящие проблемы современного российского общества: бесправие обычного человека перед системой, коррупция, цензура, фальсифицированные выборы, беззаконие, безнаказанность. Пытаясь показать вышеуказанные вопросы, в особенности в Рассказах о родине, романах Будущее и Метро 2035, Глуховский выходит за пределы фантастики. К этим, все еще актуальным, проблемам возвращается писатель и в его последнем, на этот раз реалистическом, романе Текст.
