Today's economic reality promotes companies which are capable of creating welldesigned products and services out of creative, innovative ideas. This article is devoted to an attempt to fusion two concepts widely perceived as a contradicted, innovations and routines. The authors of the article highlight the co-existence of the relationship between innovation and routines. Additionally, the authors indicate the challenge of transition from creative idea to innovation represented by the real product or service. The paper proposes a solution - concept of Design Thinking, which equips the organization in routine enabling rapid prototyping and development of innovative products.

W artykule opisano wybrane procedury i narzędzia przeznaczone do gromadzenia i dzielenia się wiedzą, stosowane przez producenta oprogramowania multimedialnego, wskazując przy tym na zasadnicze przesłanki ich wprowadzania. Będąca obiektem badań firma – uznawana za lidera branży – zatrudnia wysokiej klasy specjalistów, m.in. programistów, architektów oprogramowania, projektantów produktów, których postrzega jako tzw. pracowników wiedzy. Na podstawie obserwacji bezpośredniej, przeglądu dokumentacji organizacyjnej oraz wywiadów z pracownikami wykonawczymi i ze specjalistami pionu zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, dokonano analizy oraz oceny wprowadzonych rozwiązań z punktu widzenia ich dopasowania do okoliczności działania badanej organizacji oraz specyfiki procesów pracy.

The article describes certain procedures and tools for gathering and sharing knowledge, used by the manufacturer of multimedia software, indicating the essential reasons for their introduction. The company chosen as the object of research – recognized as a leader in the industry – employs highly qualified specialists, including programmers, software architects, product designers, who are perceived as so-called knowledge workers. Based on direct observation, review of organizational documentation and interviews with specialists in the division of human resources management, there has been an analysis and evaluation of solutions introduced from the point of view of their adaptation to the circumstances of the audited organization and of the specifics of their work processes.
