Analiza zmian przynależności do sfery ubóstwa z wykorzystaniem wielopoziomowych modeli o czasie dyskretnym

Głównym celem artykułu jest identyfikacja determinant zmian przynależności do sfery ubóstwa w Polsce w latach 2000-2013. Osiągnięcie celu jest możliwe dzięki zastosowaniu wielopoziomowych logitowych modeli o czasie dyskretnym. Modele logitowe wejść i wyjść do sfery ubóstwa są estymowane w dwóch wariantach: pierwszy wariant uwzględnia liczbę lat spędzonych poza sferą ubóstwa (w sferze ubóstwa), natomiast drugi wariant uwzględnia dodatkowo wybrane charakterystyki gospodarstwa domowego i jego głowy (np. miejsce zamieszkania, wiek i płeć głowy gospodarstwa domowego).

The main objective of this paper is to identify determinants of poverty status changes in Poland in years 2000-2013. To achieve this aim, multilevel discrete-time event history logit models are used. Logit models of entering (exiting) poverty are estimated in two versions – the first variant includes the number of years spent out of (in) poverty, while the second scenario includes also selected socio-economic characteristics of the household and the head of household (e.g. place of residence, sex and age of household’s head).

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań nad ubóstwem gospodarstw domowych osób starszych (60 lat i więcej) i osób młodszych (59 lat i mniej) w Polsce w latach 2000-2013. Wyniki analizy pokazują, że zasięg i głębokość ubóstwa są niższe w przypadku gospodarstw domowych osób starszych. Gospodarstwa domowe 60+ przeżywają dłużej poza sferą ubóstwa i krócej w sferze ubóstwa niż gospodarstwa domowe 59-.

This article investigates poverty among nonelderly (under 60) and elderlyheaded (60 and more) households in Poland between 2000 and 2013. The analysis shows that poverty incidence and intensity is lower in the elderly-headed households. There is a significant difference in survival functions associated with age of household’ head. Elderly-headed households survive longer out of poverty and survive shorter in poverty than nonelderly-headed households.
