The article discusses the operation of the biggest virtual Italian university with international scope of activity UNINETTUNO. Università Telematica Uninettuno has been in operation since 1990, initially as a consortium, and is an Italian project of providing an Internet-based learning academic environment. It is currently available in eleven Mediterranean countries, Great Britain, Albania and the Ukraine. Its activity is based on the original psychopedagogical model worked out by Prof. M.A. Garito of Rome. Thanks to its advanced technological base, students are in position to participate in real time lectures organized in the form of videoconferences, they can listen to lectures delivered via satelite televison and have access to lectures online, which are accessible at request. The rich and multilingual offer presents a great opportunity for working people who can do a university degree at a distance in many fields of education, thus becoming professionals with good position with respect to the labour market.

Artykuł omawia działalność UNINETTUNO, największego wirtualnego uniwersytetu włoskiego o zasięgu międzynarodowym. Università Telematica Uninettuno to realizowany od 1990 roku, początkowo jako konsorcjum NETTUNO, włoski projekt kształcenia na odległość na poziomie uniwersyteckim. Obecnie działa w jedenastu krajach basenu Morza Śródziemnomorskiego, w Wielkiej Brytanii, Albanii i na Ukrainie. Jego działalność opiera się na oryginalnym psychopedagogicznym modelu opracowanym przez prof. M.A. Garito z Rzymu. Dzięki bardzo rozbudowanej bazie technologicznej studenci mogą uczestniczyć w wykładach organizowanych w czasie rzeczywistym jako wideokonferencje, słuchać wykładów transmitowanych za pośrednictwem sieci telewizji satelitarnych oraz korzystać z wykładów umieszczonych w Internecie w dogodnym dla siebie czasie. Bogata i wielojęzyczna oferta programowa stanowi ogromną szansę dla osób pracujących, które mogą zdalnie zdobyć dyplom uniwersytecki w wielu cenionych na rynku pracy specjalnościach.

The article presents advancement in the area of online library training based on: the analysis of the web pages of the libraries being supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the results of surveys conducted among the librarians responsible for the library trainings and a case study of the library training held by the Main Library of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin along with the results of the evaluation survey attached to the said training.

The authors from ten countries try to consider and analyse the contemporary topics and modern trends in the fields of internationalisation of higher education, IT competence, and intercultural competences development in conditions of the digital world. The present volume includes seven articles gathered in three chapters.

Performance of an e-learning system depends on an extent to which it is adjusted to student needs. Priorities of the last ones may differ in accordance with the context of use of an e-learning environment. For personalized e-learning system based on student groups, different distribution of the groups should be taken into account. In the paper, using of data mining techniques for building student groups depending on the context of the system use is considered. As the main technique unsupervised classification is examined. Context parameters depending on courses and student models are tested. Experiment results for real student data are discussed.

This article, prepared by an international team of authors - researchers from different scientific areas, connected with ICT, e-learning, pedagogy, and other related disciplines - focuses on the objectives and some results of the IRNet international project. In particular, this article describes the research tools, methods and some procedures of the WP3 “Analyses and Evaluation of the ICT Level, E-learning and Intercultural Development in Every Participating Country”: Objec- tives, Tasks, Deliverables, and implementation of research trips. Except that, the article presents more important events, such as (video)conferences, semi- nars, workshops, an e-round table debate; among these events are ICTE2014, DLCC2014, “New Educational Strategies in Modern Information Space,” “High- tech information educational environment,” during which some more important results of the project research were presented. The list of publications includes 32 papers and a manuscript with WP3 results. Researchers from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovakia, Portugal, Czech Republic and Australia analysed the results of WP3 in the context of the next stages and Work packages of IRNet project - International Research Network.

Another desirable feature is highly qualified staff, open and prepared for lifelong learning. One of the pillars of preparing new generation specialists should be STEM education, internationalisation of higher education, and mobility. The aim of this article is to identify the lessons and challenges concerning e-learning in military organisations. The study analyses the cases of the U.S. Armed Forces and NATO distance learning programmes. Firstly, it points out cultural, technological, organisational and financial barriers to develop efficient and effective e-learning solutions in the military environment. Secondly, it discusses the challenges to measure the effectiveness of such initiatives. Thirdly, it presents the NATO attempts to combine technological, economic and pedagogical issues in one comprehensive e-learning concept. Then, it discusses the potential of e-learning technologies applicability in the Polish Armed Forces. Finally, it provides the recommendations for the Polish Armed Forces how to plan and implement distance learning solutions.

Cloud computing creates a new opportunities for the development of virtual education. The goal of the paper is to analyze organizational, economic and legal aspects of cloud computing in the context of needs of virtual education. In addition, the article presents the identification and characteristic of these areas of virtual education, where the best way is to apply cloud computing technology, for instance teaching and distance learning, publishing, collaboration and social interaction (e.g. creation of documentation, presentation or communication). The article discusses the different types of context that should be considered during planning the teaching process in distance learning environment. Particular emphasis was placed on creating learning objects and describing them educational metadata supporting the conservation of context. The method in which the content is adjusted and the way on-line classes are conducted has also been amended into three courses utilized by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow. This is used in the context of students, teachers, and organizations.

W artykule zaprezentowano koncepcję tworzenia wartości w organizacji edukacyjnej poprzez efektywne i racjonalne zarządzanie wiedzą. Punktem wyjścia do rozważań na temat wartości było opisanie ewolucji tego pojęcia w literaturze przedmiotu oraz jego miejsce w ekonomii i edukacji. W artykule scharakteryzowano także aspekty wartości użytkowej i finansowej. Na koniec został przedstawiony schemat ideowy zarządzania wiedzą w podmiotach edukacyjnych (z wykorzystaniem systemu e-learningowego) jako jeden z elementów definiowania i budowania wartości.

The article presents the concept of creating value in educational organization through effective and rational knowledge management. The starting point for reflection on the value was to describe the evolution of this concept in the literature and its place in the economy and education. The article also characterized financial and usage aspects of value. At the end it presents a schematic diagram of knowledge management in educational entities (using e-learning system) as one of the elements of defining and building value in education.

Współczesne rozwiązania e-learningowe, oparte na metodach nauki online, mają wiele zalet w porównaniu z tradycyjnymi kursami i szkoleniami. Należą do nich stały dostęp do materiałów i prezentacji multimedialnych oraz materiałów wideo, interaktywne sposoby sprawdzania postępów oraz dopasowane do uczestników tempo nauki. Często uczestnictwo w tego rodzaju kursach jest tańsze niż w kursach i szkoleniach tradycyjnych. Czy te rozwiązania są skuteczne w przypadku podnoszenia poziomu wiedzy z zakresu logistyki? Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu zaprezentowanie przypadku grupy 30 studentów, którzy korzystali z internetowego kursu – Elektroniczna Platforma Logistyczna – przygotowanego przez Instytut Logistyki i Magazynowania w Poznaniu. W artykule przedstawiono istotę rozwiązań e-learningowych, charakterystykę i możliwości Elektronicznej Platformy Logistycznej, definicję oceny skuteczności i efektywności szkolenia. Za cel badania przyjęto próbę oceny efektywności internetowego szkolenia na odległość w zakresie logistyki z wykorzystaniem statystycznej analizy testów kompetencji, którym zostali poddani studenci na wejściu (przed szkoleniem) i wyjściu (po szkoleniu). Na podstawie oceny ich postępów podjęto również próbę określenia wyceny przyrostu kwalifikacji na skutek nauki poprzez obliczenie przyrostu wartości kapitału ludzkiego absolwenta szkolenia e-learningowego.

Today, e-learning methods and techniques are commonly used. In the Internet age they mainly employ different standard forms of the transfer of text and audio-video streams. However, there are disciplines where the education process cannot be realized by means of the standard e-learning technologies, e.g. physics, chemistry or other practical educational courses. The education process requires on-site presence, e.g. in specialist labs. The telerobotic technologies can allow e-learning for the courses including prac-tical training. We have adapted a few types of the robotic manipulators to can use them for e-learning. Herein, we also present control systems and software developed by us for this idea. The presented works include the most sophisticated haptic equippment also.

W pracy przyjęto założenie, że po zakończeniu pandemii nie nastąpi powrót do stylu uczenia przed pandemią. Jednak pandemia była sytuacją wyjątkową i stąd stosowane różne rozwiązania doraźne, które sprawdziły się w mniejszym lub większym stopniu. Jednakże po pandemii rozwiązania zdalnego nauczania powinny być dojrzałe, pozwalające na uzyskanie dobrych efektów nauczania i uzyskujących szeroką aprobatę studentów. W opracowaniu zajęto się zagadnieniem sposobu oceny wiedzy studentów w trakcie zajęć i pod koniec zajęć przedmiotu w ramach pracy zdalnej. Wypracowane rozwiązania będą stanowić rekomendację dla prowadzących zajęcia na WSEI Kraków w ramach pracy zdalnej

W związku z tym wzrasta zainteresowanie e-learningiem na różnych poziomach edukacji, a zwłaszcza w szkolnictwie wyższym, wpływ ma obecna sytuacja gospodarcza, konkurencja na rynku edukacyjnym, niż demograficzny oraz pogłębiające się bezrobocie. E-kształcenie daje możliwości pozyskania studentów z zagranicy, niepełnosprawnych, tych, którzy nie mogą zrezygnować z pracy zawodowej, a chcą lub powinni się dokształcać. Takim sposobem zdobywania wiedzy zainteresowane są różne osoby chcące uzupełnić wykształcenie wyższe lub zdobyć nowy zawód.

In the contemporary world one may observe the need to organize the learning process in a fast and effective way. As a result, the interest of e-learning is increasing on all levels of education, and especially in the higher education. This results from a current economic situation, competition on the market of education, the adverse population trend and increasing unemployment. E-learning gives the possibility to gain students from abroad, the disabled ones, these who cannot give up their professional life but they want or should educate. This way of obtaining knowledge is interesting for people who want to complete their education or who want to get a new profession.

Głównym celem tych działań jest spowodowanie wzrostu zaangażowania osób uczących się. W artykule przedstawiono projekt innowacyjnej platformy kształcenia społecznościowego na poziomie szkolnictwa wyższego, uwzględniającej mechanizmy grywalizacji. W artykule przedstawiono przykład wykorzystania prosumpcji w rozwijaniu konsumenckiej innowacyjności. Prosument (student) został włączony w procesy innowacyjne polegające na przedstawieniu sposobów udoskonalenia gry komputerowej udostępnionej jako jedna z metod aktywizujących wykładu e-learningowego. Artykuł zawiera podsumowanie wyników badań prowadzonych od 2005 roku. Łącznie za pośrednictwem platformy econet zebrano 43 komentarze. Podczas wykładów zgromadzono wiedzę studentów zainteresowanych problematyką rozwoju dotychczasowej gry lub stworzenia jej nowej wersji. Podsumowując, można stwierdzić, że istnieje możliwość kreowania za pośrednictwem e-learningu konsumenckiej innowacyjności. Prosumpcja jest szansą na kreowanie innowacyjnych pomysłów. Stwarza szansę powodzenia innowacji (w przedstawionym eksperymencie powstania nowej lub poprawionej wersji gry) dzięki lepszemu dopasowaniu produktów do oczekiwań konsumentów. Sprzyja również tzw. współtworzeniu, ponadto wzrostowi znaczenia już nie eksperta, a człowieka odkrywcy.
