In the history of humanity, situations had arisen when the dependence of human beings on nature went through great changes, and nature became dependent on human beings. This induces a completely new situation of responsibility of human beings for life on the Earth. The Christian ethics coming out of Christology and eschatology points to the fact that from its beginning the created world is intended to be the house of the common dwelling and life of divine and human persons. In this, the most profound grounds of responsibility for this world are found.

The paper focuses on the mapping out of the current eco-critical discourse in drama and theatre. The theoretical approach examines models, productions, and various forms of performance with regard to the reflection on the impact of human activity on the environment. Current approaches make it possible. Inter alia, to give prominence to works dealing with the relationship between man and his natural environment which, until recently, have been overlook. There are various methods to analyse a work through ecological narrative, yet, there are simple tools that facilitate this work. Among these tools is the questionnaire of the American theatrologist Theresa J. May entitled Some Green Questions to Ask a Play. This theoretical tool was employed in the analysis of the play Margaret zo zámku [Margaret from the Castle] by the Slovak playwright Štefan Králik. One of his last plays, which have not resonated particularly well with the critique, seems to be a key contribution to the Slovak so-called eco-dramaturgy. At the same time, the study raises the question of the perception of ecologically committed plays originating in the Eastern Bloc countries and burdened with the ideology of their time. This is a specific situation that the eco-critically oriented researchers in Western countries have not been confronted with, and at the same time, it poses a challenge to the whole Eastern ecocriticism.

The title of this paper relates directly to the celebrated work of Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno: Dialektik der Aufklärung. Philosophische Fragmente. It shows as on dialectical, because the ideas associated with engage the rational mastery of the world from the degeneration of the practical ideas in increasingly sophisticated forms of man's dominion over man. Ecological interpretation of such understanding of the dialectic of Enlightenment gives it a modern expression in the sense that it points to one of the most pressing contemporary problems, born of the mythical inspiration functioning of enlightened reason, and today, in the name of being a man claiming to be his task to demythologise reality. Broadly speaking, in the name of human freedom the idea is to overcome the enlightenment tradition of freedom, or its’ degeneration in more subtle forms of practical denial. This study follows this line of reasoning and expresses the conviction that today appears to illustrate the dialectic of enlightenment in environmental and bioethical issues.

One of the elements of effectively implementing environmental policies in rural areas in Poland is the smooth functioning of public administrative bodies. Within the administrative system, what is most important here are paying agencies, which are based on national and European-Union standards, and support the development of organic farming and environmental education. The scope of the activities of these agencies largely contributes to the growth of environmental awareness in Poland’s rural areas.

The author of the paper attempts to present the concept of the biological basis for sustainable development based on knowledge. Her research areas include the concept of ecosystem, theory of biodiversity and ecology of species. A new paradigm of development takes into account current assumption of the existence of a dynamic equilibrium in ecosystems. Constant balance of ecological systems theory is a concept that has great utility model. However, keep in mind that the test is based on reality of the phenomena and dynamic processes which are influenced by the specific conditions and balancing mechanisms (natural and anthropogenic homeostatic mechanisms). State ecosystems in macrosystem society–economy–environment are always closer to or further defined as a model-based point of balance. Taking into account the dynamism of ecosystems and biological basis set leads to questions about precisely optimized management development of macrosystem society–economy–environment. They are a challenge for the emerging economy for sustainable development.

Polish distribution system of organic food is still developing. It is caused by the increase of organic market in Poland. The article is based on the results of research on the group of distributors. The survey helped to gather important information about the distribution system of organic food. More than 40% of respondents had an organic product in stock, however, 45% of them could not point out its right definition. The article shows the need of ecological education in all sectors of distribution. Most of the respondents chose a farmer or a producer as an organic food's supplier. It seems that the term 'slow food' is really a key figure on the organic food market. Nevertheless an organic product has to exist in the world ruled by globalization and its distribution should follow the trends. In the article one can find interesting information about the situation of distribution of organic products and prospects of their future development.

Since human beings are sensible to environment, the catholic theology is answering many questions on environmental problems. Environment is an integral part of God´s word. The first book of the Bible is about God´s plan with creation and thus harmonizes with others biblical books. Human beings, as part of creation, are called to protect it. In the last decades we can see the popes and their effort to point out to this dimension of human life in our origin and future.

An original scale of spirituality was constructed and verified on a sample of 108 Prague students of human sciences and technical universities. Factor analysis of 30 items indicates the existence of three factors. 'Pagan eco-spirituality' includes spiritual experiences in relation to earth, amazement with elements of nature and experience of connectedness with past and future generations. 'Belonging' refers to the experience of harmony of souls with close people, emotional closeness, respect towards and responsibility for people as well as for natural entities. A factor interpretable as 'transcendental mysticism' concerns experience of 'highest reality', catharsis from inner impurity, endless awe, deeper understanding of the world's substance and sense of integration with all life. All three aspects of spirituality bear on historical religious systems and trends, in the framework of which they have always existed. Theoretical base and results of the investigation are discussed in relation to Hood's Scale of Mysticism, Spiritual Transcendence Scale of Piedmont, Expressions of Spirituality Inventory of MacDonald, Index of Core Spiritual Experiences of Kass, Friedman et al., and other scales of spirituality (Reker, Moberg).

The article aims at presenting a description and a definition of ecofeminism with regard to the complexity of that theory. The bases for the analysis is the first collection of feminist philosophical essays on ecofeminism entitled Ecological Feminist Philosophies edited by Karren J. Warren. Ecofeminism is an intellectual trend and a social movement, as well as a system of values, and an ethical and political praxis which attempts to improve global and local situation of women and the natural environment. Ecofeminists indicate that all forms of oppression are interrelated, therefore, the liberation of women and environmentalism have a common objective. The goal of the ecofeminist philosophy is to problematize the dualistic vision of man as well as analyzing the epistemological and empirical bases of the polarization of nature and culture. In the first part, the author describes major theoretical assumptions and practical postulates formulated in the field of ecofeminism: the role of patriarchal concepts in perpetuating the domination of women and nature; the grassroots origins and character of ecofeminism; the theoretical fundament of objectification of nature. In the second part, the author discusses in short a project of ecofeminist ethics. The aim of the ecofeminist ethics is to develop an theory and praxis which would encompass women and the natural world. Ecofeminism has shown that the environmental ethics cannot be accurately discussed without an analysis of gender categories and interlocking systems of domination.

In this context it can be considered as one of the elements of the social cultural identification. In this paper the current revitalization process of the traditional manufacturing forms is based on relationship changes of the man to the nature. Revitalization of the traditional manufacturing elements itself is considered by societies as one of the significant forms of cultural identification in contemporary multi-ethnical and multicultural society.

In the Basque Country there is a renaissance of the new waves of social movements; demonstrations, mobilisations of the population as well as the far not less brutal street clashes have become frequent. The relationship and settlement of political violence and social movement seem to be undergoing changes during the recent few years, at the same time the media, urban management or even the discourses of social sciences often generate the opposite. The fact that history has branded certain movements and semi-political organisations with the stigma of nationalism is rooted in the endless interpretation of Basque nationalism and in the different definitions of the Basque cultural identity as well as in the different concepts of nationalism of the political forces. The present writing attempts to outline in brief the relationship between the Basque environmental movement and nationalism.

The paper presents etnographic research results in Russia in 2008 in Altai Krai and in 2010 in its European part. The author observed the popularity of the new social movement - the Ringing Cedars of Russia. Its formation was inspired through The Ringing Cedars Series. The author - Vladimir Megré chronicles his meetings with Anastasia, a mysteriously powerful woman in Siberian taiga. She led Megré into a world of cosmic consciousness. She is able to solve even most complex social, health and environmental problems. The author refers to the old Russian, spiritual tradition, this is the institution of starets influenced by Greek monasticism. It's related to the deep-rooted tradition of Russian apocalyptic and messianic elements, the idea of Russia's great mission as the Holy Russia, and then the idea of Moscow - Third Rome. Anastasia is presented as an allien, too. She came from another planet by some space vehicle in order to render to people the saving massage. Anastasia's teaching is focused mostly on ecology which is strictly connected with feminism. A recurring theme throughout all of the books is creating 'Kin's Domain,' or 'Space of Love,' that is a hectare of family-land which is developed into a self-sustaining type of mini food-farms. The series inspired many readers worldwide to cast away their old lifestyles in pursuit of a purer existence. These developments are commonly undertaken as part of an eco-village and celebrate freedom from the unnatural pressures and stresses of modern life. The aim is also a reconstruction of Slavic tradition (holidays, customs and habits).

The article draws the reader’s attention to the category of intergenerational justice, that is justice concentrated on the space between two points that are distant from each other, and asks the question about how social relations improved during the life-time of one generation and how they deteriorated in the life-time of another; as well as one if one generation may burden another one that follows it with its own charges, in this way setting itself free of them. In a long-term perspective intergenerational justice is the main ethical challenge that concerns not only German and Polish demography, but practically that of all the European Union countries. In the worldwide scale especially the problem of ecology is significant, as well as the problem of dealing with natural resources. Since in the political process future generations do not yet have the right to make decisions, there is a threat that their interests will be neglected, and the present generation will make profits at the cost of the future ones. This is why drawing everybody’s attention to so important ethical issues is one of the Church’s significant tasks.
