W dyskusjach pojawia się teza, że zrównoważony rozwój to rozwój oparty na równowadze pomiędzy wymiarem gospodarczym, społecznym i środowiskiem naturalnym1. Równowaga nie wyklucza działalności zyskownej z ekonomicznego punktu widzenia, jednak również pozostałe elementy powinny pozostawać w stanie długoterminowej stabilności. Działalność nie może zatem być "krzywdząca" dla społeczności, ani tym bardziej nie może negatywnie wpływać na środowisko naturalne, uniemożliwiając kolejnym pokoleniom korzystanie z jego zasobów. Ponieważ ekonomia islamska nazywana jest często etyczną ekonomią, celem tego artykułu jest sprawdzenie, na ile zasady ekonomii islamskiej wpisują się w zasady zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw. Czy przedsiębiorstwa działające w zgodzie z zasadami ekonomii islamskiej są jednocześnie prowadzone z zachowaniem równowagi płaszczyzny gospodarczej, społecznej i ekologicznej w wyżej przyjętym rozumieniu, czy też ewentualna równowaga jest inaczej rozumiana niż w kręgu kultury zachodniej?

Also a thesis that a sustainable development is the development based on the balance is turning up at discussions between the economic, social dimension and the natural environment. The balance doesn't exclude profitable activity from an economic point of view, however remaining elements should also remain in the state for the long-term stability. Activity cannot and so be " hurting " for the community, neither all the more cannot negatively affect the natural environment, preventing next generations from using his resources. Since Islamic economics is often called ethical economics, an inspection is a purpose of this article, to what extent principles of Islamic economics are becoming part of principles of the sustainable development of enterprises. Whether operating enterprises in accordance with principles of Islamic economics simultaneously are run with keeping their balance of economic, social and ecological plain in the higher accepted understanding, whether the possible balance differently is also understood than in the range of the west culture?
