Through the expertise of international foreign trade can help to improve management efficiency. However, this is only possible if the countries reduce trade barriers and strive for perfection which is free trade. There are different sources to improve the efficiency of farming which are the consequence of foreign trade, but rather its liberalization. The impact of foreign trade on the effectiveness of management is carried out mainly through international specialization. Foreign trade affects the efficiency of the economy and by importing technology. Another source of improvement of economic efficiency, which can reduce the cost of production is the emergence of competition in the domestic market of foreign goods. This encourages manufacturers to take steps to reduce manufacturing costs and improve the quality of the goods offered. However, such a mechanism should be created triggered the conditions for the competition. This means that imported products must be close to the national wealth opportunities to reach the market. No doubt fostered openness in trade policy.

The article presents Wincenty Stys's programme of reorganization of the agricultural system, which aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and elimination of income inequality in rural areas. The author describes activities proposed by Stys, which aimed at repairing the agricultural system based on increasing the rural population's share in property and the generated income. The article depicts Stys's belief in the importance of the development of cooperatives, which would help to introduce technological progress in agriculture. It also highlights Stys's role in the process of development and occupancy of Western Lands and indicates that, besides developing new political systems for agriculture, he also took part in the organisation of the first Polish cooperatives of settlements around Wrocław.

Artykuł jest próbą oceny efektywności gospodarowania w podmiotach z udziałem kapitału zagranicznego, funkcjonujących na rynku usług w Polsce na przełomie wieków. Z analizy danych statystycznych wynika, że podmioty te — prowadząc ekspansywną strategię rynkową — wyróżniały się wysoką produktywnością pracy, co — w pewnym stopniu należy przypisywać skali działalności, technicznemu uzbrojeniu pracy i oszczędnemu gospodarowaniu zasobami pracy. Natomiast ich przewaga w dziedzinie gospodarowania zasobami majątkowymi nie była tak znaczna, a zarazem zróżnicowana w różnych branżach i zmienna w czasie. W niektórych dziedzinach usług podmioty te wykazywały nominalne straty. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The author of this article tries to asses the efficiency of the management in the entities with foreign capital functioning in the service market in the late nineties and in the beginning of the current decade in Poland. Results from the statistical data analysis show that those entities running expansive market strategies distinguish in high work productivity - to some extend thanks to the activity scale, technical work equipment and economic management of work resources. Whereas their prevalence wasn't so significant in the assets resources management and at the same time, so diversified in different branches and changeable in time. In some fields of the service those entities show nominal losses. (original abstract)

The subject of this report is effectiveness in the process of management of public funds. The analysis covers the process of purchasing of specialist medical equipment by entities providing therapeutic services. The report takes into account introduction into the issue of public procurement transactions and a short description of the market of medical equipment with reference to associated legal acts. In accordance with the thesis of this report, the level of effectiveness in carrying out of public procurement contracts depends on the purchasing process that should be consistent with and adequate to the ordered product, and results from appropriate making use of all institutions provided by the Public Procurement Law and also from rational decisions made by the ordering institution in the public procurement awarding procedure. Expedient and economical expenditure of public funds, aimed at achieving the maximum utility (best effects and profits for the user), has a direct effect upon country's economy and influences its economic processes. Application of the Public Procurement Law must be associated with rational actions made by the ordering institution during the procedure, making use of all available institutions specified in the Law, and with abidance by the requirements of the purchasing process which should be adapted to the subject of the order. This report presents a purchasing process model for medical equipment and provides examples of incorrect actions by ordering institutions, with results of public procurement awarding procedures regarding specialist medical equipment purchases in the years 2009-2010. Taking into account the data collected in the sector of specialist medical equipment, only the purchasing process, which combines in itself the financial, organizational, ethical, legal and clinical aspects, may be regarded as effective, making use of the purchasing model which is appropriate for a given equipment. Provisions of legal acts are not the goal in itself but must be coordinated with the rational decisions of the orderer so that equal and fair competition between potential contractors may be achieved.
