W artykule uwagę skoncentrowano na badaniu relacji pomiędzy wzrostem faktycznej elastyczności zatrudnienia i sytuacją na rynkach pracy krajów Unii Europejskiej w warunkach negatywnego szoku ekonomicznego. Większość krajów Unii Europejskiej, które w okresie negatywnego szoku ekonomicznego miały relatywnie stabilne poziomy zatrudnienia, nie należy do liderów w zakresie stosowania umów pracy tymczasowej w wielu krajach o relatywnie niskich wskaźnikach zatrudnienia. Elastyczne formy zatrudnienia stanowią, w okresie spowolnienia gospodarczego, jedyną szansę na znalezienie miejsca pracy.

In this paper, focuses on EU member states, we investigated the relationship between the employment flexibility and situation on the labour markets under an economic shock. In a period of economic slowdown, in many countries with relatively low employment rates, flexible forms of employment are the only chance to find a job. European Union member states, which in the period of negative economic shock were relatively stable employment are not the leaders in the field of temporary work contracts.
