W artykule podjęto rozważania dotyczące istoty i specyfiki innowacji w sektorze usług, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem regionalnych różnic w poziomie ich rozwoju. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie przestrzennego zróżnicowania innowacyjności sektora usług w Polsce. Realizacji tak sformułowanego celu podporządkowano rozważania w następujących obszarach: 1) istoty i rodzajów innowacji; 2) nakładów na innowacje w sektorze usług; 3) wniosków i rekomendacji dla rozwoju innowacji w tym sektorze.

The article undertakes discussions concerning the nature and specifics of innovation in the service sector, with special attention to regional differences in the level of their development. The aim of this article is to present the spatial diversity of innovation in the service sector. To achieve this aim the following issues were considered: 1) the nature and types of innovation; 2) expenditure on innovation activities in the service sector; 3) conclusions and recommendations for the development of innovation in this sector.
