Celem artykułu jest analiza ewolucji Festiwalu Krytyków Sztuki Filmowej Kamera Akcja w Łodzi, od pierwszej do dziewiątej edycji wydarzenia włącznie (2010-2018), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zjawiska wideoeseju, który w ostatnich latach zajmuje sporą przestrzeń w jego programie. Autorka – na podstawie programu filmowego, wydarzeń towarzyszących, konkursów organizowanych przez festiwal oraz konkretnych dzieł i sylwetek autorów – podejmuje refleksję nad próbą pozycjonowania terminu przez tę festiwalową imprezę w polskiej teorii i krytyce filmowej.

The aim of the article is to analyse the evolution of the Festival of Film Critics ”Camera, Action” in Łódź, from the first to the ninth edition of the event inclusive (2010-2018), with particular emphasis on video essay, which in recent years has occupied a large space in the program. The author – following an analysis of the film program, accompanying events, competitions organized by the festival and specific works and profiles of the authors – reflects on the attempt to position the notion of “film essay” by this festival event in Polish film theory and criticism.
