The article is devoted to analyzing psychological problems which people can experience as a result of globalization processes. After discussing various views on globalization a new model of the phenomenon is presented which helps to understand people's difficulties to adapt. Globalization is seen as a process of universalization of the existing social order and at the same time as a process of accumulating power which determines the direction of social changes. On the basis of these two dimensions of globalization four hypotheses concerning future development of social processes have been formed and, respectively, four groups of psychological problems in adaptation to social changes are predicted. Finally, the rules for offering psychological help toward people with adaptive difficulties are outlined.

The author stands up for the position of the prevailing right of sociology (before philosophy and psychology) as to the study of life senses from applied and socio-prognostic basis. The author considers main reasons determining, in his opinion, traditions of rather restrained relation of sociologic science to the life-sense problems. He substantiates the investigation of social problems not only from the “value” platform but also from that of “life senses”. He also presents a series of arguments which condition contradictions within dominating in the society treatments of values, if they are analyzed from the viewpoint of finding/loss of the sense of life. The emphasis is made on creation of a certain “cult” of the correct sense of life in the society which was favoured in historical perspective by all world religions and world ideologies which dominated after the beginning of the process of secularization. Actually, there is the identity of key positions as to the “correct”, “true” sense of life among the absolute majority of key varieties of religious-ideological foundations of mankind. There is, respectively, a contradictory influence of the tradition of cultivating the correct sense of life on socium and individual’s self-determination with allowance for the actual conditions of vital activity. There are series of arguments in favour of more detailed investigation of life purports in the period of globalization, in particular, in connection with the considerable influence of globalization processes on deformation and often desacralization of traditional purports concerning the sense of life.
