The text follows the traces of Slavic musicians and music in the Bulgarian recorded music from the first half of the 20th century. The observations of the recorded music are supported by examples from the Bulgarian radio broadcasting and press. Some conclusions are reached from the view of the history of Bulgarian musical culture and some parallels are made with the contemporary musical reality. The Slavic musicians (temporary migrants or permanent immigrants in Bulgaria) founded the basics of the general trends of development of Bulgarian musical culture: the urban amateur (Czechs and Croats) and professional (Czechs and Russians) musicians; art (Czech: saloon, military and philharmonic orchestras) and popular music.
