The purpose of this article is to present a wide range of technical issues associated with the construction and functioning of the glassworks “Targówek” in Warsaw, 116 Radzymińska St., from 1925, when its construction began, until the outbreak of the 2nd World War. The factory stood out from other glassworks in Warsaw at the time because it produced glass which served special purposes, i.a. laboratory glassware, glass for laboratory apparatus, chemically neutral glass. It required constant development and research on glass batches. The above subjects constitute the content of this article, and their detailed description was possible thanks to the unique document, i.e. memoirs of the designer, technical manager of the glassworks and engineer – Józef Peszel. It was a source document for this article.
