Europejskie banki systemowo ważne i ryzyko systemowe wynikające z ich działalności

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie i porównanie działalności europejskich globalnych banków systemowo ważnych według kryteriów ich identyfikacji oraz wskazanie skali ryzyka systemowego wynikającego z ich istnienia i funkcjonowania dla europejskiego systemu finansowego oraz krajów macierzystych. Analiza przeprowadzona w artykule umożliwia sformułowanie ogólnych wniosków i rekomendacji w kierunku ograniczania działalności i większej transparentności europejskich G-SIBs. Mimo zmniejszenia skali działalności największych europejskich banków, na który wpływ miały wprowadzone w UE regulacje dotyczące wyższych wymogów kapitałowych, procedury resolution oraz jednolitego mechanizmu nadzoru w ramach unii bankowej, to nadal generują one ogromne ryzyko dla europejskiego systemu finansowego oraz dla przeciętnego podatnika. Zdaniem autora istotne jest jeszcze zwiększenie ograniczeń i transparentności dotyczących działalności inwestycyjnej tego typu banków.

The purpose of this article is to present and compare the activities of European Global Systemically Important Banks, and to indicate the scale of risk for the European financial system and home countries. The article tries to formulate general conclusion and recommendations to limit activity of G-SIBs and to increase their transparency. Despite the reduction in the scale of activity of the European G-SIBs, they still generate huge risks for the European financial system and the average taxpayer. It is important to increase the restriction of the investment activities of these banks.
