In the beginning of interwar period there were rather few sporting facilities in Warsaw. Due to political and military reasons, the Russian administration of Warsaw was not interested in development of such an infrastructure. After regaining independence, a lot of necessary investments in sporting facilities were held and the most important infrastructure (among others representative stadium of Polish Army and Central Institute of Physical Education) was estabished. Warsaw quickly managed to bridge the gap between other bigger cities of II Republic of Poland (Lwow, Cracow, Poznan etc.). However, Warsaw sporting and municipal authorities did not manage to create some necessary facilities. One of them was sport and entertainment hall. There were few concepts of building such a hall in interwar Polish capital. Unfortunately, none of them were realised, especially because of high costs and long duration of such an investment. The aim of this article is to recapitulate the concepts and ideas of establishment of Warsaw’s sporting hall as well as to try to answer the question why there was not even close to realise them.
