Implementation of advanced innovation projects would be impossible without infrastructure support from the state. Market-based transition in Ukraine required transformation and adaptation of centers for S&T and economic information of the Soviet type according to demands of the competitive information environment, given the acute shortage of budgetary funding and private investment. Experiences of regional centers for science & technology information (RCSTI), created at the Ukrainian Ministry for Education and Science are shown in the context of building up infrastructure to support science & innovation and entrepreneurial activities in regions. The possibility to transform existing RCSTI into regional information and analytical business innovation centers of the European type is discussed by way of analyzing relevant international tendencies. Detailed account of the Lviv RCSTI is given. It is shown that nearly all the RCSTI are engaged in regional S&T and socio-economic programs and new fields of information and analytical activities. In view of the national practices, main functional modules and functions of the RCSTI, and an action plan for pilot experiment on the platform of the Lviv RCSTI (consisting of 3 stages) are proposed.

The problem of creation of the informative system of regional innovative infrastructure is proved for the effective realization of innovative activity and realization of the innovations. The scheme of the informative system is offered with application of such informative technologies as databases and Internet, which will provide instantaneous access to the informative resources and will accelerate final result of innovative activity.
