The essence of intensity of competitive environment in the retail trade and terms and factors of its formation and development have been determined. The calculation of territorial assessment of intensity of competitive environment in retail trade has been offered on the basis of determination of degree of similarity of market shares of competitors, and also by indexes taking into account the market dynamics and market profitability. On that basis the new perspective tendencies and regularities of the development of retail trade have been substantiated.

The article describes a complex typology of relations between GDP and its sources: Total factor productivity (TFP) and Total Input Factor (TIF). We analyse how possible changes in TFP and TIF affect GDP development. We give each situation a specific name that clearly explains it. Based on the analysis, the so-called dynamic parameters of intensity and extensity are introduced. The parameters quantify the share of the change in intensive and extensive factors in GDP change. The article further compares our typology with previous ones and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen parameters.

The study explored the relationship of sensory sensitivity (SS) with the perceived loudness of music and the preferred intensity of visual images. Perceived loudness was studied with the techniques of magnitude production, magnitude estimation, and cross-modal matching. Preferred intensity of visual images was measured in the tasks of emotional, cognitive, and preferential assessment of the visual material. No relationship between SS and the preferred or estimated loudness of music was found. Moreover, SS did not seem related to the absolute auditory threshold. However, preferences for the intensity of the visual stimuli varied as a function of SS. High SS scorers preferred images with less satiated color, unclear contour, and which evoked no illusion of movement. The negative relationship of SS with the preferred intensity of images suggests that low and high SS scorers vary in their need for stimulation. Lack of association of SS with the perceived loudness of music may be due to the fact that the auditory modality is insufficiently represented in the FCB-TI, a questionnaire measure of SS we used. The scale should be revised considering sensitivity to the acoustic stimuli.

The article presents an alternative method to growth accounting. It makes it possible to express the effect of change in the quantity of inputs as well as the effect of the productivity of inputs (i.e. technological changes) on the change of GDP for all possible typologies of input/output changes. Dynamic parameters of intensity and extensity could be delivered as the output of the method. The first one captured the effect of change in the summary productivity factors, while the latter captures changes in the input quantity. The dynamic parameters were calculated for the development of GDP of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in the period 1990 – 2014.The results confirm more intensive Slovak development in the given period that is manifested in reaching of Czech value of GDP per capita expressed in purchasing power parity (PPS).
