Nowadays organizations seek for effective methods of acquiring, analysing and implementing the relevant information from the Internet, where enormous amount of information appears continuously and chaotically. One of the proposals aimed at reducing the effort and cost is to track and analyse the Internet content automatically. Based on the empirical study on blogs from Onet.pl, the paper presents the tool for automatic content analysis. The presented tool can complement work of PR managers and it may become the alternative to traditional methods and techniques of content analysis in the near future.

The method and the rapidity of the information are very important for the development of the information society. Continuously developed information technologies on the one hand facilitate the implementation of the communication process, but on the other are a challenge, as they offer new opportunities. One of such opportunities to access information is two-dimensional QR code. With those codes there are possibility to quickly provide the information and at the same time encourage recipient to take interactions with information. In the article Author outlines the possibilities of using QR codes and presents the results of the popularity of this method of communication among the students of the university.

SNSs allow the establishment of the so-called company profiles, enabling a continuous and interactive dialogue with customers or potential customers. This paper presents an analysis and assessment of the effects of becoming a fan of the brand by the person of generation Y in the light of empirical research.

The aim of the paper is to present the changes in crisis communication resulting from the rising popularity of social media. It elaborates on the advantages as well as threats of social media for companies and institutions regardless of whether they are active in this specific virtual environment or not. In order to define the communication processes taking place in social media such phenomena as e-WOM (electronic word-of- -mouth) or viral effect have been introduced. Moreover, notions like threat, problematic situation and crisis have been defined. The case studies presented here illustrate how fast information is published and shared via blogs, microblogs and social portals and what are the implications for crisis management in an organization related to it.
