Bariery kulturowe w zarządzaniu bankami z udziałem kapitału zagranicznego w Polsce - znaczenie etnocentryzmu

Artykuł poświęcony jest pokazaniu znaczenia barier kulturowych, w tym w szczególności etnocentryzmu (zarówno narodowego, jak i instytucjonalnego) w zarządzaniu bankami z udziałem kapitału zagranicznego w Polsce. Oparty został na przeglądzie literatury oraz badaniach własnych autora, polegających na wywiadach z kadrą kierowniczą tych banków oraz innymi przedstawicielami środowiska bankowego. Autor stara się wykazać, że czynniki kulturowe mają istotny wpływ na osiągane wyniki przez banki, aczkolwiek należy je rozpatrywać z innymi uwarunkowaniami ich funkcjonowania. Zatem nie należy ich traktować w sposób deterministyczny, ale powinno się uwzględniać podejście holistyczne, w ramach którego aspekt kulturowy nie może być pomijany.

The article presents the importance of cultural barriers, in particular of ethnocentrism (both national and institutional) for the management of banks controlled by foreign capital share in Poland. It was based on literature review and the author's own studies - interviews with senior executives of banks and other representatives of the banking community. The author tries to prove that cultural factors have a important influence on the results achieved by the banks. The cultural context shouldn't be considered separately, but analysed with other conditions of bank performance and development. Therefore, not a deterministic but holistic approach is recommended to this research field.
