The results of the research carried out among 148 enterprises show that the eagerness to enter Polish market with relatively less resources than in case of direct investment, as well as, avoiding investment barriers on Polish market have constituted the most important reasons for choosing joint venture by foreign investors. Among the most significant benefits of a joint venture the questioned enterprises indicated the strengthening of the competitive position, the improvement of the enterprise's market image, as well as, an inerease of final consumers' satisfaction.
