The educational activities in question are undertaken in Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych Nr 1 [a high school] in Oława, where an innovative educational programme has been in place since 2007. The author’s analysis focuses on the implementation of this media education innovation and the forms of activities under the programme. The author demonstrates that journalistic education is one of the ways to implement media education and that the two disciplines need not be separated. In this case innovation has not been inspired by John Holt’s philosophy, but there is no doubt that learning through creative activity is effective and satisfactory to both learners and teachers.
