We are presenting few comments to the social work and position of social worker in the current society. Some changes are related to varying character of society influenced by globalisation and postmodern present. We apply to the position of social worker in the field of social protection, to some of their work conditions and job satisfaction indicator. Our work shows the relations between hygiene and motivational factors and job satisfaction of social workers regarding to the some abroad findings, similar studies in Slovakia have not been realized yet.

Aim/purpose – This study aims at investigating the incidence of procedural justice, job satisfaction, and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) of employees within small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. The main thrust of the study is to provide justification for the possible link between these behavioural factors with a view to establishing their roles in fostering SMEs. Design/methodology/approach – A cross-sectional survey design was employed to elicit information from 1420 employees randomly selected from 71 surveyed companies. The responses from the questionnaire were analysed employing correlation and hierarchical regression analysis. Findings – The result showed a significant relationship between procedural justice, job satisfaction, and OCB after controlling for age and gender. The study, therefore, concludes that procedural justice, job satisfaction and citizenship behaviour of SMEs employees are imperative for the success and ultimate survival of SMEs. Research implications/limitations – Understanding the impediments to the growth of SMEs in developing nations require an indebt understanding of some behavioural factors. The study was limited to SMEs in Lagos, Nigeria. Original/value/contribution – The study recommends the need for managers of SMEs to monitor these three behavioural outcomes in other to ensure the sustainability of their businesses. This would in the long run, improve an employment, and reduce poverty. It also provides statistical norms for researchers.

For many years, job satisfaction has been one of the most frequently undertaken research problems, first and foremost due to its significance for practice: for management as determinants of an employee's work readiness, for contemporary organisations both as an objective and indicator of organisational effectiveness; psychology is obliged to the significance of professional sphere in a person's life, the influence of job satisfaction on the quality of life and its subjective evaluation. Researchers have a great interest in this area, proof of which can be seen in the number of terms and definitions. Their ambiguity is an important, yet not always obvious, methodological problem. Different research attitude - as a result of ambiguous understanding of phenomena determined as "job satisfaction", "professional satisfaction" vs "dissatisfaction", "no satisfaction" - makes it difficult, and sometimes even impossible, to compare the results. Therefore, the article aims at presenting methodological difficulties faced by a researcher dealing with an interdisciplinary problem of job satisfaction, where doubts appear at the first stage, i.e. establishing definitions.

Przedstawiono dane z analizy przeprowadzonej w ramach projektu "Wdrażanie usprawnień zarządczych w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego na obszarze województwa zachodniopomorskiego" mającego na celu poprawę jakości usług świadczonych przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego. W artykule w ramach usprawnień analizowano zadowolenie pracowników ogółem i w zależności od stażu pracy w urzędzie. Objęto 16 jednostek samorządu terytorialnego (JST), które wyraziły chęć wzięcia udziału w projekcie. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości zastosowania tzw. "map satysfakcji pracowników" (graficzne zobrazowanie zjawiska).

A project "Implementation of the management improvement in Local Government Units on the area of The Zachodniopomorskie voivodship" was realised. A quality improvement of services provided by Local Government Units was the aim of this project. A factor which conditions correct functioning of the health care system in a country is a number and quality of the system's medical staff. Nurses play crucial role in this professional group. The aim of this research was to demonstrate a relationship between professional satisfaction and human resources development in nursing. The research was performed with the method of diagnostic survey using anonymous questionnaires designed by the author. The test sample was chosen randomly from nurses employed in two medical centres in Bełchatów. In total, 150 people were examined. Basing on the performed survey a conclusion was made that management process influences professional satisfaction and human resources development in nursing.

Jednym z najważniejszych oraz najcenniejszych zasobów każdej organizacji są osoby, które w niej pracują i budują jej wizerunek, a tym samym sprawiają, że firma funkcjonuje w odpowiedni sposób. Liczne badania przeprowadzane przez socjalnych badaczy przekonują, iż najlepsze przedsiębiorstwa na rynku to takie, w których zawodowa aktywność traktowana jest przez pracowników nie tylko jako źródło dochodu, lecz także jako przyjemność. Z wymienionych powodów dążenie organizacji do zapewnienia satysfakcjonujących i przyjaznych warunków powinno stać się jednym z priorytetów przedsiębiorstwa. Badanie satysfakcji pracowników wskazuje na aktualny poziom zadowolenia i satysfakcji zatrudnionych osób i równocześnie informuje o tym co robić, aby tę satysfakcję podnieść oraz utrzymać na zadowalającym poziomie. Istotne jest to, żeby pamiętać, że satysfakcja i zadowolenie pracownika nie jest luksusem, lecz warunkiem jego zaangażowania, kreatywności oraz lojalności, natomiast zadowolenie podwładnego przekłada się na zyski firmy i zadowolenie klienta. One of the most important and valuable assets of any organization is the people who work there and build the image and make the company function properly. Numerous studies conducted by social scientists argue that the best companies on the market are those in which professional activity is treated by employees not only as a source of income but also as a pleasure. For these reasons, the organization's desire to provide a satisfying and friendly environment should be one of the company's priorities. Employee satisfaction surveys indicate the current level of job satisfaction and employee satisfaction and at the same time inform you what to do to keep this satisfaction up and keep it to a satisfactory level. It is important to remember that employee satisfaction and satisfaction is not a luxury, but a condition of commitment, creativity and loyalty, while subordinate satisfaction translates into company profits and customer satisfaction.(original abstract)
