Payment for goods or services is increasingly being realized without cash. Payment cards are used both to withdraw cash from an ATMs and to make non-cash payments. A particularly interesting area of use of payment cards (and other tools) is a segment of micropayments. The development of technology and the evolution the needs of users enables the development of this area (dominated by cash payments) for non-cash payments. This paper contains an analysis of contactless payments and also growth prospects. The main areas are: functionality, achieved benefits and safety of use.
